I'm pretty sure that Jeff Petry put out the fire by himself.

I just heared this in the Radio, too.
One or two guys rushed into a cinema during the presentation of the new batman movie..

Hoping most people there are fine.
Right now, they don't have any information about deadly hit person.
There are only news about many people who are hurt.

It's not terrible but they could have done a LOT better!
They left out quite lot of important bits that are important for the story.

Also the book was all about Katniss and her thoughts and feelings which they couldn't/didn't portray on screen so that took a lot away from the movie!

True, but honestly I thought it sucked. It's like the took random events from the book and just slapped together a movie. Not to mention how horrible the acting was, I actually burst out laughing in the theatre when they cut to Gale's sad face after Katniss kissed Peeta. The made my favorite character(Peeta) look like a douch bad. I think the movie was made for 15yr old girls. The only highlite of the movie is the girl that played Katniss was gorgeous.

Ok that's good - I talked to someone about the movie that read the book and they said that I MUST read the book first to truly understand the story and the thoughts going through her head. I had my girlfriend read the book too and now we're going to watch it together in the next few weeks. She actually prefers the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series to the Hunger Games. I saw the first movie (GWTDT) and it was incredible.....has anyone read the book and seen the second movie in the series?????

They barely touched on the Gale Katniss relationship. How are they going to work him into the next movie as her lover?

Unless you have a director/creative force that is so in love with the source material, books will always be tougher to adapt to movies.

I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter series, I love the books and the movies, and there are definitely things left out of the movies that were in the books, some I thought should definitely be in there, but that hasn't stopped me from enjoying the movies.

The Hunger Games series is the same way. I love all 3 books, and I quite enjoyed the movie, I saw it 3 times in the 1st week (had family who all wanted to see it with me but we couldn't go on the same day). At the end of the day, do I think a better job could have been done? Absolutely. Did that stop me from enjoying the movie? No, not at all. When I go to see a movie that's adapted from a book, I very intently try to focus and remember that the book is, at the end of the day, a SEPARATE property, and a separate medium to tell the story. That both the book and movie will share the same general plot, but there will be differences.

Another good example would be the Fincher version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Now, I will take Fincher at his word when he says that he read the book and enjoyed it. But David Fincher is an extremely talented and driven director. Someone who is an absolute stickler for details. If you were to honestly ask those who have A) Read the Dragon Tattoo Series and B) Have seen both the Swedish and American versions of the 1st film, which one was better and more true to the Books, most people would answer the American version. Even though the author was Swedish, David Fincher took great care of the source material and treated it well and we as an audience were rewarded with a great movie that had a lot in tune with it's book counterpart.

But, there were still differences and still things that were left out that were treated as semi-important in the book.

Have you watched the second movie of the series? My girlfriend just read the book. I might have to read it as well if the second movie is worth anything

I am on the last portion of Book 3, "The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest", and have seen all 3 of the Swedish adaptations of the books.

Noomi Rapace, the actress seen in this year's "Prometheus" was the person cast as Lisbeth Salander. She is a terrific actress in my opinion, but it was ironically enough her casting of Lisbeth that put all of the movies in a bit of an "off scenario" if you will. The way they describe Lisbeth in the books matches up a whole hell of a lot more to Rooney Mara, the actress in David Fincher's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo".

Overall, the films are enjoyable, but by seeing both the American and Swedish versions of TGWDT, I would say that David Fincher did a whole lot better at capturing the book well on film.
