people asking for TFK rather than us trying to ship him off. we truly have reached the end times. i for one feel truly ambivalent about a post-chest-sniping world.

That's one thing I don't like about this Penguins management because I always feel like we are in the dust when the Flyers and NYR are always making big moves for marquee players and we're left with the leftovers. Just go all in on a winger for once and actually get a superstar player like Ryan.

Overall, I am just very frustrated with the lack of a winger that we have been looking for so long and have yet to even find one. I wish we sign Semin and he works his butt off and proves everyone wrong and we will finally have that winger we always wanted.
If the thing about Parise taking less money to assure Suter got the exact same contract is true, someone already offered him significantly more than he earns now and likely up to 8.5m too. Don't you think, that if there has been some sort of foolproof offer no one could reject, Parise would be wearing orange now too?

But, yeah, with the Semin. Get your Russian butt over here already.

Don't know if this was posted, but it's quite depressing...
Meh. It's only depressing if you've had unrealistic expectations both about what Doan could bring and his likelihood of signing anywhere but PHX. Even if he signed with a rival I wouldn't care that much. He's a good complimentary player but not the end of the world. Much more concerned about Weber.

And I've seen forwards listed as defensemen.

If you had Kennedy and played him as a center, you'd be in bigger trouble. Even in the AHL he was a right winger.

Watching Kennedy play center in the NHL would be a funny sight. He's literally - literally - simply skated up and down the right boards for seven years.

BTW I'd ship Kennedy to VAN for a 3rd Rd draft pick. THey wouldn't even have to give us Raymond.

I know a lot of people think they know what the asking price is for Bobby Ryan... But I wonder what the asking price is for Bobby Ryan. The guy's got 3 more years left at $5.1M. Talk about a ****ing bargain. Surely we can give up a little and use that saved cap room to get back what we'd lose in a trade.

In theory, Tyler Kennedy is a top 6 forward and is originally a centre. So IN THEORY, Kennedy should fit the bill.

I feel like we have a team right now that has the potential to walk away with the season but that's if absolutely everything goes right. Crosby plays a full season, Malkin doesn't shy away just because he's not in the spotlight, Martin and Orpik get their games back, Kennedy returns to his 20-goal scoring ways, Neal, Kunitz, Dupuis, and Cooke all have strong seasons again, Fleury has his best year from game 1 of the regular season and through into the playoffs, and finally to have a year for once where we're not plagued with injuries.

That's a lot to ask but if Philly gets Weber, I think that puts us in a position where it's basically what I've stated above, or bust.

True, the UFA season hasn't ended yet but there's no more big impact Defensemen UFA's so we're pretty much hoping that the same blue line (but with Despres in place of Michalek) is going to play better. Picking up Semin or Doan would be awesome but really, for our offence, a healthy Crosby would already be an upgrade over last season.

The reason why Read is so talked up is because he put up 20 goals his first year, he's a top PKer on a team with bad defensive forwards, and he's signed for about 3 more years at 900K.

He's very valuable to us because he's good, young, and very cheap for a while. That's all.

I want to preface this by saying I am not trying to be a jerk, but... What you're saying is that Pitt has to have every player having their best possible season and no injuries? I don't think any team can ask that of their players.
