Malone // Stamkos // Purcell
Semin // Lecavalier // St.Louis
Pouliot // Killorn? // Brown

I think he could manage to put up some good numbers in that situation.

Only way Yzerman goes for it is if its a 1yr deal though. Even then, he'd still probably not do it. I think he wants to let some of the prospects battle for the few remaining roster spots.

Honestly forgot about the guy.

Must be enjoying himself if he hasn't gotten a contract he's liked yet.

I think Semin would look really good next to Kesler...

I'd offer 8 years @ $5.5M structured in a way he would like.

The last thing Vancouver needs is another guy that doesn't show up in the playoffs.

Semin was arguably the Caps best forward in the playoffs.

Not his fault Bruins, Caps and Rangers play the kind of hockey that makes scoring look like something only Jesus can do.

Right because nobody on the Canucks shows up in the playoffs.

Sorry we keep losing to the team that ends up winning the Cup.

I hope the Avs sign him for 3-4 years.
Does anyone know the reported dollars he wants and the years?

I honestly can't believe no team has offered Sasha something like 3-4 years, 5.5M/year yet. He's the exact need of many teams.

As mentioned, I'd guess he's looking for more term and possibly a bit more money. Something around 6 per over 8 years (pure speculation on my part). Ultimately he might have to accept less, though, or go to the KHL.

Would be interesting to see him on a line with Kovy...

He has significantly less pressure to perform in Vancouver. We have scoring potential from Daniel, Kesler, Booth, Burrows, Edler and Higgins. Obviously, the intent is him to light the lamp but Washington has either been such a offense demon that not scoring is magnified tenfold or the whole team couldn't score on this year's Fleury/Bryz.

Detroit should offer two years next to Datsyuk, same pay, he might take it.

No, he wasn't.

3 goals, 1 assists in 14 games and a -4 states otherwise.

7 goals in his last 30 playoffs games.

Semin is a playoff no show.

Teams are probably offering 2 years at 6.0/6.5 and others offering that 5.5 for the longer term 3/4 years. Some teams may only be offering him 1 at his 6.5/7.0. He'll get his deal he wants and I'm sure it really comes down to the CBA as mentioned.

That would be sweet. But ya I don't think SFY likes him as a player enough to do it and for what he's asking. It's no secret that all GMs have their concerns. Otherwise he'd be signed by now.

He was a no-show versus the Rangers. He scores two goals there and Caps win that series.

Sorry, stats count.

He's a sniper so 7 goals in your last 30 playoff games is simply not good enough.

3 goals in 14 games is simply not good enough and especially not good enough to be called "arguably" their best playoff forward last season.

Especially in games that were so low scoring. 3 goals might seem like nothing when you look at series like the Pens/Flyers, but Semin's 3 goals was 3rd most on the Caps.

Heck yeah I would love Semin on the Bolts. It is an awkward situation to have Semin who is only 28 years old looking at a paycut. I think he is making 6.8M now so the question is how low will he go? He may think he deserves a raise and that makes it unlikely anyone would go more than a year on him.

His 3 goals all came against Boston. He had 0 goals in the Rangers series.

I guess the word is out on Semin. No one will commit long term dollars & years. If he has a bunch of 1 year offers on the table he better pick one soon or those may dry up also.
