I would gladly take a few bad years to weed out the fake fans that have made it unenjoyable to be a Phils' fan. Bring back my free tickets stuffed in a pack of hot dogs!
A Phillies' game shouldn't mean you're going to tailgate with a bunch of hookers, it means you should watch the damn game.
The worst part has been as a Flyers fan hearing this town is a baseball town. I'm sorry but it's not. It's a football town, with a realllllly strong hockey market. When the Eagles suck, they sell out. When the Flyers suck, they sell out (mostly). When the Phils' stuck, all of the hipsters go elsewhere. I just don't think this is an elite baseball town at all.
That's because there are only 8 games a year in football. Plus in 2005 when they had that horrible season there were empty seats in that stadium. I dont care what you go to and what sport it is, if their team is struggling and is painful just to watch, there will be empty seats.

I'm going to be honest I don't know about the Eagles, couldn't give two poops about em. But it's funny you say that, when the Flyers were the worst team in the NHL, they were still selling out. The Flyers don't dominate this city, but I think they have the most loyal fans.

I dont really remember 2006-2007 as far as the attendance goes, other than the fact that the one game I remember going to it wasnt full. Not sure about the other 40 games But you are correct, the Flyers do have really loyal fans.

We averaged 19,282 fans per home game that year, or 98.9% capacity on average.
I would just like to point out one thing. I called a while ago Utley's knees wouldn't be a problem, and he's proving me right so far. He's looked better than he has in years.
Twas a good win. Nice to see them able to turn a borderline game. This team looks 10x better with their pieces back but it still probably isn't enough to salvage.
A win in extras, that's something different for a change. With it they avoided having the most losses in extra innings and in 1 run games in the Majors. Still worst home record in the NL though, being the only team to not reach 20 wins at home. They can rectify that against the Brewers, who are bad on the road.
Wolfpack v. Doc's patients to start it off tomorrow night.
I cant wait until 5 or 6 years from now when Mike Trout signs with the Phillies. People keep on saying Cole wants to go home, well then why shouldnt we think Mike Trout doesnt?

He might but Anaheim is going to offer him a long term deal soon that he won't be able to turn down in my opinion.

Plus depending on when they offer him this deal and how big it is, Im not sure how they are going to be able to pay 2 massive contracts (Pujols). Just saying by that time the Phillies will have their mega TV deal and could afford him. But this is so many years do the road, but this is what happens when your team is unbearable to watch. You think about crazy ideas.

When is Trout's deal up? I'm from SJ and I had no idea this guy was from NJ until my dad made a comment about him around the ASG. Haha. I've been busy following Todd Frazier for NJ baseball.

I think in either 2016 or 2017 is the earliest he become a free agent. This is just a pipe dream at the moment though. The A's have someone from South Jersey as well as the Brewers I believe.

A's had Andrew Bailey, who's now a Red Sox (sock?) Born in Voorhees, went to Paul VI.
