22 points in the Q. 22. wtf? That does not appear NHL caliber. Now 40 this year.
Look at the worst offensive players on the team:
-Condra: almost ppg in AHL
-Neil ppg in junior
-O'Brien: ppg in junior, 56 points in AHL
-Daugavins, same story
etc
Yes Culek is big, good defensively and better offensively than those stats suggest, but come on. Please try and find a forward who scored that much in junior who became anything in the NHL.
i've been voting wideman for the past few, but since filatov lost in a tiebreaker to gryba last poll, i think it makes sense that he should be next here. Will resume widemaning once he's gone.
This.

But, that's one in thousands, chances are very slim. Clarkson also put up ppg in his last junior year. He's also a tough guy and that's how he got his big break.

Doesn't put up points in the bigs, but definitely a useful player in his day,
Versteeg doesn't really impress much more (numbers wise)
I've been voting Filatov, but come to think about it, we got him for a 3rd round pick before his disaster season last year. Is he worth more than this year's 3rd round pick Chris Driedger? Perhaps not.

The thing with Filatov... he has NHL puck skills obviously. And he's responsible enough out there.
But he's not... tenacious enough. It's not about plowing people into the boards. He doesn't push the envelope enough. He's too passive. He waits too much. Make **** happen instead.
It's a lack of will with him, and that's what's frustrating. I'd say he was worth the gamble, the 3rd, because he wasn't always like this.
