Us Oiler fans curse the heavens for the Horcoff contract. I can't even imagine how Isles fans feel about that doozy.

Was that the problem with Yashin? He always seemed OK to me. IMO he's just not that good. Peoples expectations were/ are just out of whack with him. GM's and owners are just stupid enough to expect more if they pay more.

It's probably Chicago who still needs a #2 Center and seem to try to plug in stop gaps. He would be their summer "splash/splat" from McD

It's not like he was a terrible player. But I agree, just because someone is old and has experience, it doesn't make him a mentor.

Yeah and for some other reason they would also make an offer to Yashin.

My biggest problem with Yashin was back in 2000 when he decided to take a year off and "go on holiday to Switzerland" (even though he had a contract with Ottawa) simply because he felt he should be paid more. I'll leave his questionable personality out of this...

Yashin being a stop gap #2 center for a year until Strome is ready and bringing Semin with him is something I would actually like to see.

Moulson-Tavares-Okposo
Grabner-Yashin-Semin
Bailey-Nielsen-Boyes
Martin-Reasoner-Boulton/Joensuu

That actually resembles a group of forwards who can make the playoffs.
Yashin can't play 2nd line anymore.

Nobody has learned their lesson.
Yah, pretty sure none got run out of town for lack of effort...like Yashin.
