Carolina signs Tim Wallace

Quote:
Ron Francis, Vice President of Hockey Operations for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Tim Wallace on a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay Wallace $700,000 at the NHL level, or $105,000 at the minor-league level, for the 2012-13 season.
Quote:
Wallace, 27, split the 2011-12 season between the New York Islanders and the Tampa Bay Lightning, notching three goals and earning six assists (9 points) in 49 NHL games.
http://hurricanes.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=638281

I thought Wallace looked good for Tampa. Was surprised they didn't bring him back.

First two posts! Just sort by whichever heading gives you the results you're looking for. I honestly don't believe there's a better free agent list on the internet!

Which site is the best to find contract status of players who havn't played in the NHL last season? Players like Josh Tordjman, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare etc ... (At the very least, I would like to know where they gonna play next season)

Per Elite Prospects, Marcel Muller, who played last season for Toronto of the AHL while under contract to Toronto of the NHL, has signed with MoDo of Elitserien for next season.

Bellemare will play in Skellefteå in the Elisterien league in 2013

Tordjman isn't under contract for the 2013 season

Restricted free agent defenseman Mark Fayne signed a two-year, $2.6 million contract with the Devils today to avoid an Aug. 2 salary arbitration hearing.

Also Ryan Craig, who was under contract with Pittsburgh last season, has signed with the Springfield Falcons.

I'd read that the sticking point between Ottawa and Daugavins is Ottawa's only offering a 2-way deal. I believe it was Bruce Garrioch that said if Daugavins is awarded a 1-way deal, Ottawa will walk away from it. I could actually see both Weise and Stralman as candidates to be walked away from, depending on what they're awarded.

Updated arbitration list. Versteeg arbitration on Monday, Daugavins on Tuesday, and Weise on Friday. Will they go to arbitration? Nobody has, yet.

Does the arbitrator get paid even if not needed?

Mark Flood has signed in the KHL.
http://www.winnipegsun.com/2012/07/2...roslavl-in-khl

Johan Backlund will remain in Europe. Backlund played one game in the AHL and one in the ECHL, before being loaned to a team in Finland, last season.
