1. I'll put up a vote for Kreider because if he finds himself on a line with a lot of chemistry, there's enough speed, skill, scoring ability to put up close to 30 goals. It won't be easy obviously but it might just get there.
2. Best staal in NY, not likely.
3. Henrik back to back.... I'll say yes because the voting this year was a landslide so he definitely has the advantage in terms of popular votes if he is able to finish top 2 or 3 in numbers.
4. It's hard to not rebound after a horrid season.
5. Erixon, I'll say no.
6. Pyatt and co. - tempted to say yes because of optimism and ya, I think so
7. Atop the EC: Don't care about as much as playoffs so eh, if we do then great, if not then okay too but I'll say no.

Hehe, a fan of a EC team that can't spell the name "Staal"...

[QUOTE=broadwayblue;52795229]Came across this article listing 7 predictions for the Rangers this upcoming season.
  1. Chris Kreider Will Score 30 Goals.....YES
  2. The Best Staal Brother Will Be the One Playing in New York...No, eric has always been the best.
  3. Lundqvist Will Win Back-to-Back Vezina Trophies.... no, he barely won last year, if quick plays half as good as he did during the playoffs its his.
  4. Brandon Dubinsky Will Rebound.... will be traded so no.
  5. Tim Erixon Will Start the Year in New York.... YES, del zotto to CBJ = Erixon starting
  6. Pyatt, Asham and Halpern Will Outplay Prust and Fedotenko.... YES, feds was horrible, and prust didnt score.
  7. The Rangers Will Win the Eastern Conference.... NO, we out performed ourselves last year.

if we get Nash for Dubi, AA, Del zotto ++ then all the above will be true. pyatt, asham and halpern were great "Need" signings. pyatt gives us size, asham replaces prust for less than half the price, and halpern helps with faceoffs. from what i hear erixon is ready to go after a good season in the AHL so i hope he can step in and help with the loss of DZ.

I don't think we'll win the conference, but as LA proved you don't have to. Could see this team making a good trade or two at the deadline.

Why doesn't anyone think Erixon will start in NY? We have 5 NHL defensemen on the roster right now.

1. No, but he comes close. I would guess 25 goals 30 assists.
2. No, but he does have a great year and make everyone remember why he was an all-star
3. Will be a candidate. Their defense this year will be better than it was for most of the year last year.
4. Yes! Dubinsky will score ~60 points this season.
5. Yes, Erixon will impress out of camp
6. Yes, Pyatt specifically will love his new role in New York and thrive here.
7. I would hope so but I never make predictions like this

A steal? Columbus gave up the face of their franchise to get him.

A winner of the trade? Dubinsky will never score as many goals as Nash. Dubinsky will never be the offensive player Nash is. Other teams don't build game plans to contain Brandon Dubinsky. They build gameplans to contain Rick Nash.

We win this trade or at absolute worst break even.

If Nash ces in and busts big time that's a different story. If Nash comes in a puts up the numbers we expect him to we did very good.

We have to realize Dubinsky is going to put up at least 40-50 points next year just because of the sheer amount of ice time he'll get. It's expected.
