is 1.5 million for a borderline 3rd pairing guy an attractive contract to other teams around the league?
Anything we can get for him will be a-ok with me.
I'd say so. His physicality is at a premium IMO. Something that teams will be looking for come trade deadline. Plus he'll always have that title of 1st-Rd pick, so that always helps.
I like this deal, and to be honest I hope he sticks around. Doesn't look like it with him set to hit UFA status next year but I don't have many complaints about Mark at all.

I really hope we can keep fistric. A lot of you don't feel as that good of an asset, but having one of the best hitters in the NHL is a huge gift.
I'm more of a Fistric fan than most here but this is one case where the organization has repeatedly shown lack of faith in playing the guy full time. He's likely going to be a victim of circumstance with all of the prospect talent coming along. Dillon will probably be a regular and if he can show consistency in a physical game that makes the decision to get rid of Fistric that much easier, especially if Nemeth shows he can adapt to North American ice relatively quickly (I think he will).
I wouldn't call myself a Fistric fan, but I think he's better than most fans do. I'm totally ok with this signing, but I would not at all be surprised to see him traded during this season.
