I'm disappointed in that the trailer wasn't what they showed at SDCC. However, I thought this was a great trailer. It doesn't show much, but it does show one important thing: We're in for a much different Superman. Finally!

I loved the Donner films. Will always treasure them. But it's time bring a new Superman to the masses.

That's what I was thinking. Might as well have used the Star Wars or Indiana Jones theme lol. Terrible teaser.

I'm pretty sure that you guys are overstating the popularity of the music in the teaser - it's not even one of the main themes from the trilogy. Teasers (and trailers) use music from other things all the time.

It was composed for LOTR. Nothing can change the fact this is 100% associated with that scene. Not only that but it's one of the more memorable scenes in the trilogy (even if it's not the main theme), which makes it more than just some random song used in a movie.

The funniest thing about this is that there was a similar debate with the trailer for LotR: The Two Towers, which used the "Requiem for a Dream Song" (Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell) in its trailer.

I liked the Man of Steel trailer. A lot. It was very different; I had zero problem with the "Gandalf song". I love the direction they're seemingly taking Superman. Hell, some of those shots from the trailer looked almost Malickian. If Snyder is going THAT route to flesh out Kal-El's childhood, then I'm stoked.

Anyway, no problems with the trailer. You couldn't even tell it was a superhero film until "Man of Steel" was emblazoned on the screen.

The DC logo kind of gave that away, but I agree that it was a pretty serious tone for a superhero film. Kind of reminds me of a Nolan produced film for some reason.

Alright. Did you complain about The Two Towers using the Requiem for a Dream theme for the trailer? If not, you should have as that is much more known and (over)used than this cue. Or how about The Fellowship using O'Fortuna during the second half of one of its trailers?

Same teaser trailer, but with Russell Crowe (Jor-El) doing the voice-over.

Edit: Apparently this has already been posted.

Though the camera goes out of focus repeatedly, this is pretty decent quality (comic con footage):

Much better quality than the one I posted last week. I am in love with Snyder's style for this film!

Christopher Nolan has offered his early impressions on The Man of Steel.

The Dark Knight Rises director, who is producing the Superman reboot, told Digital Spy that director Zack Snyder and lead actor Henry Cavill are going to make a "remarkable impression" on audiences.

That comic con footage is a lot better than that teaser trailer. Teaser trailer didn't even get me slightly excited or interested in the film.

That's better. If there is one thing that is horRible though, it's these geeks cheering at the trailer. I feel embarrassed just watching that.

Really? Are you embarrassed when sports fans cheer after their team scores a goal?

Yup. Surprised that footage got to Youtube considering how tight CC is about getting that stuff out (there's no sign of Iron Man 3, Ant-Man test footage etc. yet). Uploader is so banned from Comic-Con now.

That's the Lex Luther I was talking about! Such a great character. I expect that we will see that Lex Luther in the sequel to this film.

I am so excited for this movie! The trailer is amazing.... Russel Crowe's voiceover in the back, the music, and then finally the "reveal"...

Such a good cast, too. I'm psyched!

It's too bad that Superman Returns bombed because I really thought that Kevin Spacey's portrayal of Lex Luthor was spot on. Just a psychotic genius with no moral compass whatsoever.

Brandon Routh deserves an honourable mention as well for pretty much duplicating Christopher Reeve's voice and overall look.

I enjoyed Superman Returns and I thought that both Spacey & Routh were excellent. Kate Bosworth was not very good though.
