Came here to see if anyone made a thread on it yet. This is great.
I expect we will see 1 or 2 things: either see the deal voided by the league and the isles get their 2nd rounder back. Or Snow will toll Vis contract, like he did Nabokov's.

Nah.

I doubt the isles want 3 yrs of Ballard at $4m. Not as disappointing as Ballard's played.

I believe the isles acquired Vis before his NTC kicked in.

I expect Snow will toll Vis contract, forcing him to play his season on LI.

There it is. Now it's a normal Islander off season. :depressed:

Sadly, I'm not either.Maybe because of the Nabokov drama and tolling.

I don't care how reluctant Vis happens to be. If Snow has to twist his arm, so be it. I don't care at this point. We need Vis for 1 season, so we are not rushing De Haan or Donovan into the top 4, so we improve our defense to at least make positive steps towards a playoff spot.

Vis, suck it up.

Clearly he doesn't want to be here, I say trade him, get a pick and then take the money he was going to make, throw in 2 million and sign Alex Semin.

You just gotta laugh at this point. What a joke this franchise has become.

I highly doubt that. It amazes me though how people just love to try to blame Snow for everything. Definitely not Snows fault

Did Nabokov clearly want to be an Islander, when Snow grabbed him off waivers?

It took Snow from June 2011 until June 2012, to land a quality, top 4 defenseman without badly overpaying. From the time Erhoff rejected his contract, until trading for Vis at the 2012 draft.

I will be very surprised if Snow trades Vis.
The market for quality, top 4 defenseman is just too costly.

Snow has put together such a ****** roster that one of his acquisitions is filing an official grievance to avoid playing here, and his solution to improve said roster is adding 40 year old Miroslav Satan.

How, exactly, is this not his fault?

Unreal, I can't stand this team anymore, constantly bringing me down. They just can't put together an NHL roster without problems. I'm at the breaking point.

Who do you expect him to add? It is pretty clear that nobody wants to come to this team. Players that play here like it, but Snow has no chance to add free agents or players with a no-trade. I am still pissed at him for letting PAP go, but lets be real, unless you are willing to badly overpay on the trade market, you aren't getting anyone else right now.

Here we go again. I did not try to bash Snow, he made a great trade to get Vis in the first place. But the friggin' sec you say something that can be construed as negative its "Amazing" to people. Why does anything AMAZE Islanders fans at this point. Fact is this off-season is gonna be failure when compared to the rest of the East and if we don't keep Vis or get a viable top 2 d-man its an absolute failure....Steve Staois round 2.

HOW is this Snow's fault?????????

The NHL reviews all trades and the contracts of players being traded to make sure everything is OK.

The trade happened in late June and the punk is saying something NOW???? This is ALL Visnovsky. All of it. It has NOTHING to do with Snow, Wang, the Islanders.

The Islanders are not even involved in the arbitration. Visnovsky is taking the Ducks to arbitration.

Snow can't talk to a particular player before a trade and say, " oh, excuse me, before I make this deal, do you want to play here?"

Snow or any GM works to make his team better. Snow did that and 95% of the people on the message boards thought it was a solid deal. Now suddenly, its not because the player is being a gutless puke?

Please... that is not right, and not fair.

Snow may have made mistakes and Wang is certainly no genius, but lets be real about laying blame. Was taking Nabokov off waivers a bad choice? Of course not. We had massive injuries to our goalies and we needed one. Any GM would have done the same in that circumstance. Was it Snow's fault that he did not report?

My ire is pointed where it should be — and Vishnovsky. NOT at Garth Snow.

Why is it Snows fault for making a trade for a better D man? Why is it Snows fault that he can't pony up the $$$ to overpay for average free agents?

The BS thing is, all of these players won't come to LI. Yet, the players that do end up staying and loving their time there.

Getting Nabokov in was a pain in the ass because he didnt want to be there. Then he signs an extension? It's the goddamm agents that are getting in the way. It took Vis agent a month to figure this out? I think it's time to fire your agent, jackoff.

Honestly, I don't even give a **** anymore. I had such a strong feeling this was going to happen.

**** Visnovsky. If he plays for us or not, he can go **** himself.
