Thats crazy term and dough for Doan, but if MB did offer that it would tell me he thinks he could have this team ready for a Cup run in 3-4 years, otherwise it would really not make any sense at all. But, I dont believe he offered that.

According to Eklund's latest tweet:

Hockey Buzz Eklund ‏@Eklund
Hearing talk about the Sharks/Habs talking…(which feels like an annual event) but this time it focuses around Boyle…perfect fit for Habs.

I don't see how Boyle would be a perfect fit. We already have Markov, Subban & Kaberle (& Diaz to some extent). However, someone like Douglas Murray could be intriguing, a big, mean defenseman that can intimidate opposing forwards.

You know very little of hockey if you think 1 year of Murray is worth more than 3 of Bourque.

If we could get Murray for Bourque straight up, it'd be done yesterday.

I'd be really happy with Boyle or Murray. Personally I think they're both world class guys and if we can take them off SJs hands so they can get Nash, I'd be glad to do it

I would gladly take four 1st rounders from Dallas.

The Leafs' draft picks are too valuable for it to be them. I'd go to the other end of the spectrum/country and look at Vancouver (assuming they get rid of Luongo)

I'd be surprised if it's the Habs since they have a very important unsigned RFA named PK Subban still out there to be offersheeted by another team. Anyway as Ek EVER had anything about the Habs correct yet?

I would be more worried about PK getting an offer sheet from the Flyers now that they missed out on Weber.

Maybe it's a ridiculous offer from the Flames so that the compensation would be 4 1st round picks.. I doubt they would pay that much but hey it's Feaster we're talking about here..

This would be risky for the Habs, if we had to hand over a few 1st round picks for Benn. He looks really good and would be yet another power forward for us, cant really have too many. Thing is, is his upside worth taking a few 1st round picks out of TTs hands ? Flyers and Weber was a bit different in that you know the Flyers are very likely going to be drafting late in the 1st for several years unless they royally mess up, and in return they would have gotten maybe the best D-man in the game, a franchise D-man still well in his prime that would put them in the top few teams for the Cup for several years. Habs have some very good pieces but I dont see how even with Benn wed be contenders in the next couple of years and in the meantime we really could be drafting top 10 for the next couple of years, though we could also be in the play-offs starting with this season. Tricky, tough call. Id be more willing to bet on Vancouver and Calgary. No way toronto because of Burkes stance on offer -sheets and it would be nutty for Edmonton to do it.
