Being that this was inevitable I can't say I'm unhappy. I wish Nash's cap hit were lower, but at the end of the day he is a 1st line talent and we didn't give up anything crazy. Would have loved to keep Erixon, but our D is strong, and we have McIlrath and Skjei on the way.

Theoretically, that leaves room for Doan. Reasonably.
The length of Nash's contract is the only thing that worries me.

I don't agree with his tweet, but it's hilarious as hell.

Rick Nash, who is past his prime and wildly overpaid on a longterm deal, is now a New York Ranger. So, enjoy him in a few years, Habs fans.

Incredible to think that the Rangers have enough depth to reasonably fill the gaps that Artie/Dubi/Erixon will leave in the organization. Congrats on the solid deal, boys.

This. Will Slats be the hero of Manhattan if he pulls it off?

Special Thanks to Slates for taking Nash out of the West and replacing it with a bunch of spare parts. As a Canucks fan 1st and a Rangers fan 2nd I love the deal for all my hockey needs !

Looks good to me.

I'm going to miss Dubi and Anisimov, but Sather made a great trade.

With Halpern being signed. It looks like Boyle will center the 3rd line.

I think a big key was not trading Miller. That would of killed our center depth.

Hey freinds...as someone who has been against this trade, it looks complete. Once official, I will fully support this trade and am excited to see how this plays out. Congratulations to the pro-Nash crowd and what can I say, I root for that jersey and hope Nash will have much success.

Let's go Rangers!!!

We discussed the Dubinsky and AA part of the deal in the multiple off-season threads. Weeks ago.

Great trade. Anybody know how much we can give Doan now?

Yup. 2 guys who took a step back last year offensively. Also helps our cap situation with Artie going the other way. One less player we have to pay next offseason.

Deal is very acceptable to me. Honestly at this point Howson could have did worse, we kept all of our kids. Erixon might hurt at 1 point down the road well be ok. AA is replaceable. We Win!

I have been against this deal from day 1 thinking we would have to give up Stepan or Kreider.

But for this, even I am happy!!!!!!!

I have a sneaking suspicion Sather got another player in this deal. He normally keys in on a no-name, under-utilized type.

So we start the season with:

Nash-Richards-???/Doan
Kreider-Stepan-Cally
Hagelin-Boyle-Pyatt
Rupp-Halpern-Asham

Not too bad.

I figured for sure Miller would be in the deal. Didn't think they'd want Erixon, but I'm good with it. Feel bad for Erixon though. At least he got to play a few games with us.
