Apparently we also gave up a 3rd rounder and a minor league defenseman.

I don't think it's a terrible deal. Dub and Ani are going to be liked in Columbus.

If the CBJ can flip the LA 1st back to them and by some grace of God and a miracle send Mason with it to get Bernier...

Then turn the NYR 1st + ??? to Anaheim and get Bobby Ryan....

While it's not the best deal in the world, I don't see the "fleecing" as some are. I think these are decent acquisitions that came back the other way, could even flourish better as their roles are about to become more important to your franchise. I think only time will tell on this one.

Erixon is Jeff Carter Part II waiting to happen. Bundle him into a package for a right winger or a goalie.

I don't think Dubinsky and Anisimov are part of the solution in Columbus. I think Howson's homerun turned into a double.

.... what? The Loop's one of the safe parts of Chicago (and the UC's not even there). You're thinking of the South and West Sides. That's stabby town.

This is what we get for letting Howson handle the biggest transaction in franchise history. Nobody should be surprised.

Agreed with this. The guy didn't want to play in Calgary, not sure he will want to play in Columbus.

The thing I like about this trade (and other moves we have made in the last year or so) is we are finally getting guys who work hard.

Assuming Erixon is going to stay, where the hell does he play? Or better question, who the hell is leaving?

Heres to new beginnings! well at least we have 3 1st rd picks. JJ will become the franchise player. With bob, johan and foligno to be the up and commers. Unless we get mackinnon...

#CBJ also sending 3rd pick and minor-league defenseman to #NYR in Nash trade. Told defenseman is not David Savard

Know who needs high-end defensemen prospects? Detroit.

Know who has high-end forward prospects? Detroit.

Just sayin'.

I'd have to believe there's another deal on the side...remember that Zherdev didn't get traded until the Huselius contract was agreed to.

Tyutin would be my second guess. Wiz would obviously be preferable, but unlikely.

No Kreider. I think McIlrath instead.

this trade isn't as bad as fans of other teams make it seem. Howson is just today's whipping boy.

This gives the Bluejackets good depth, Erixson a former 1st round pick, Anisimov, a former 2nd round pick. Dubinsky is a competent 2nd line center who is still young. And on top of it, you add another 1st round pick for one of the best draft years in a very long time.

Not only that, this is the type of trade where the assets will help the Bluejackets immediately. I wouldn't be disappointed with this trade considering Nash's cap hit and the restrictions that comes with trading him (nmc).

It says minor league defensemen.

Not that anyone wants to be positive, but our blue line is now top 5-10 in terms of depth. We need to move one of Moore or Savard. It's not possible to properly develop all of these guys.
