Rick Nash will out-produce Dubinsky and Anisimov COMBINED next season.

I'd say Leafs offer there is better, Gunnarsson is a top 4 NHL defender, Erixon TBD.

I know. If he wasn't riding a Pride float in Afghanistan he wouldn't have missed out.

I'd say 3 in the Atlantic, Boston, and Florida/Wash all make it leaving 3 spots open to the rest of the teams. My point was that if all those teams get better, it does not really impact our chances as we were not going to be competing with those teams any way.

He alone wouldn't do much for this team, and by the time we are competitive he will be 30+ while taking up cap space. I just think we are at the wrong stage to add a player like him in his prime, as he will be at the back-end of that prime when we actually have a chance to win and need him th most. Nash is good, and will put up great numbers in New York, but he shouldn't be the go-to guy.

59 points for Columbus last year on 30 goals. Bozak 47 points.

Now we will see what Nash can actually do with some players to skate with. But I just don't see why the Rangers gave up what they did. They could have has a cheaper Bozak for much less. lol I think bozer can get 55 this year is he is on the first line for what ever reason.

Bozak worked with 2 Allstars by his sides. Nash worked with... who exactly?

I would've preferred Coutourier and Voracek over this deal. I just can't get over this...

Wow CBJ didn't land any of NYR's core prospects. Erixon was expendable with MDZ and McDonagh. Anisimov is a good young talent can be replaced. Duby will be alright for CBJ and 1st round pick is gonna be late.

Overall bad trade for Howson. If you're a small market team and you're giving up your franchise player you gotta land at least 1 top tier prospect. The trade would have been better if it were Dubinsky, Del Zotto and a 1st. As others have mentioned, quality > quantity in this case.

You just compared Nash to Bozak and made a case that Bozak is the better performer

Now Burke shocks everyone and trades for Bobby Ryan, Ryane Clowe, Douglas Murray, and Jonathan Bernier.

Then everyone's like "yeahhh Borke!".

Glad we stayed out of this and he didn't want to come here. Didn't want to give up a package around Gardiner+our probable high 1st next season.

I hope as Leaf fans we can all agree that the only way this team is going to improve in the foreseeable future is from within.

doubtful. A couple americans signed with american teams and some anonymous sources with who knows what agenda said a couple other players didn't want to play in toronto

vs.

exponentially more stories over the years of players who did want to play here, coupled with tons of players actually signing or re-signing

so meh. Attracting players is still the last thing this organization has to worry about imo
