CBJ won this trade, and I actually like the Rangers.
Dubinsky - 50 point 2 way 2nd line center
Erixon- 7.5B level prospect to go along with Ryan Murray
Anisimov- 35-40 point center/winger with some size 6'3''
1st round draft pick, most like 20-30 in a very deep draft.

Rich Nash
60 point power forward winger with a MASSIVE cap hit...

He's not going to be a 60 point player in NY, and his cap hit makes little difference right now.
According to CapGeek, it's $13,391,666 with two pending RFA: Del Zotto and Stralman.
Yeah but in 2 years they have some big deals, Gaborik, Callahan and McDonagh (Next year). So they have to think long term stability with any other moves they make.
Its the Rangers, but they have to think longterm. Who would they trade, Richards? Lundy? Nash? Let their 40 goal scorer Gaborik walk?
The only way Doan goes to NY is if he takes discounted 2 year or less deal.
No...i bet they trade Gaborik before his deal is up. Sather doesn't think long term... he sees an opportunity to win and win now...he goes for it ..... Win or lose you cant blame him for that.
So with the Nash trade......... this has got to help Nashville...right?
Maybe gives them the upper hand in forcing Philly to offer more in Weber trade or they match.??
Definitely might be able to twist Holmgren's arm a little harder to try to get either or both Schenn's back for a couple of their picks. I'd guess Holmgren would be ok with them matching though, since it still at least guarantees Weber stays in the WC if he doesn't come to the Flyers.
not that I want to argue this, but could he possibly be traded after the 'new' cba shows up ? (depending on the 'new' rules)
Unless they put something in the new CBA that specifically alters situations in the current one, then no.
The other interpretation from his spew is that Nashville would take the picks, then try to trade them BACK to Philadelphia for players. To my knowledge that's legal, but Philly wouldn't do that. They knew going in that they'd give up those picks for Weber, and Holmgren wouldn't be under any pressure to get those picks back at all.
Saying that he wont be a 60 point player for the Rangers because he has a better supporting cast is silly. His scoring game hasn't been anything special since he stopped cherry picking and paid some attention to defense. He will have to play for Torts now who is even more of a nazi in that regard.

Ignorant on this issue, but would Nashville be allowed to match the offer then move Weber for a package they prefer to the four 1sts? Or is there an enforced no-trade period after an offer sheet is matched?
