can any players in the league see that the guys currently on the team, JT, Moulson, Grabs, KO, Hamonic want to stay here! Does JT have to score 100 goals to get anyone to want to play on the same team as him? I mean vis is a good(at best) dman, but he isn't at a Pronger or Suter level. It's one year left on his contract, be a man, step up and and play for a year. I'm being an optimist right now, but who knows we can actually get somewhere this year, we may look bad on paper, but thats why they play the games.

If this trade does get nixed, I want more back than just our 2nd rounder. It's the Ducks fault that they didn't honor a clause in Lubo's contract not the Isles fault. They broke the rules and we should be compensated because Garth probably would've tried to find another way to get a dman here instead of relying on Visnovsky.

would snow not also be to blame for not completing his due diligence?

It was probably something that just came up on the trade floor... And really I think the burden to know what a players contract says verbatim is the team that actually has the player under contract

perhaps that is true, however, my larger point was that the nyi are not going to receive anything more than their 2nd round pick back if the deal is voided.

Uhhhh what this guy said. Our D is questionable WITH VIZ and if this trade gets voided this team will be in terrible shape coming into the season.

I disagree. I think the isles defense is very promising with Vis.

I do think it takes a major it, if the deal is voided.

Just because Snow's job is hard doesn't mean that he also isn't really bad at it.

I use this example all of the time, but last year the Isles had $5 million to spend. Snow could've traded for Liles, or Versteeg, or Brouwer, or any of the other solid players who moved for very reasonable prices. Instead he picked up Brian Rolston and called it a day. It didn't save him any money. He was just not good enough to come up with something better.

It makes some fans feel better to imagine that the Isles are permanently screwed no matter what, but I don't think that has to be the case. We may not win a Cup with Wang's austerity budget, but there's no reason that we shouldn't be able to contend for a playoff spot.

correct me if im wrong, but the trade went through on draft day. Everyone seems to be saying his NMC goes into effect on July 1. If so, whats the problem? Is there something I'm missing?

Customer service@Newyorkislanders.com

I just sent in my request to never have him play a game for us.I could never cheer for this guy
As I could never cheer for Kirk Muller . In the case of Nabokov I cheer for the save being made
But not for him. I follow the team unconditional and spend my very hard earned money at the
Mosoleum. The least they could do is ice a team that wants to play.

LOL! typical. I dont even have to read the thread and I already know what some of the posts say "wang and snow are idiots " etc, in so many words. This is obviously not the first time something like this has happened. It seems like most players, when they think of long island, they think of uniondale, coliseum parking lot, with the mariott. Every time a player has a gripe about long island and actually gives it a chance they love it. Its almost like a vicious cycle; UFA's wont come to long island because of the building, wang doesnt wanna open his pockets and overpay because of the arena situation, players see this as wang not wanting to build a winner and a contender. wash, rinse, repeat.

Im far from a wang apologist or defender, but the fact of the matter is, this team has been run as a mickey mouse organization for over 20 years now, not just the past 12 years wang has owned the team. Another poster hit the nail right on the head, and iv said it plenty of times in the past, it feels like we made a deal with the devil for the dynasty and we are feeling the pain now, 30 years later.

If this team never had the dynasty, never won any cups, I have no doubt in my mind that this team does not exist on long island anymore. They would have moved 15 years ago. Only way we change the perception here is if this team miraculously becomes a good team sometime in the next 3 years.
