eh, give me Konopka over Halpern and maybe I'd agree on the 4th line. Wish we got him instead of Halpern still. 2 years with a 925k cap hit? That's a Sather-approved contract if I ever saw one!

False.

They have 13+ mill left on the current cap set at 70.2. Summer cap is 77+ mill.

The Cap will probably drop, but they have more than 7 mill of space left.

I'd like to see us pick up someone on the cheap (Sykora?). and a dman than give a big deal to Doan. Hagelin-Boyle-Sykora is a very good 3rd line. what would it be for something like him?

Sykora looked like he didn't want to be here in 06.

ahhh that's part of the fun. I think Cally, Kreider, Stepan round it out for sure just a matter of who plays with who. I imagine they split up the big 3 though.

Hagelin, Boyle, Miller/Thomas.....I bet we see that by the All Star Break

I was just mentioning someone a name, doesn't have to be him, someone like him, what else is out there?

At this point I don't see any more large multi-year deals in the work this summer. We could use some depth guys on O and D, but for 1 or 2 year deals max.

Yes, $7.5M for Doan is okay, but trading for Nash? Apparently not.

Logic is fun.

Love the trade!

We'll probably trade that 3rd rounder back to CBJ for Dubi or AA at the trade deadline anyways.

False. The $13mm is the summer cap. Go add it up yourself if you don't believe me.

I'll stay away from Doan. He'll just end up blocking some of kids who will be ready in the coming years.

not that I disagree with you because I don't know lol, but did you subtract the cap hits that went back? we didn't make any moves outside of nash except for minor ones, how do we have such little space left when the cap hits almost even out with all we gave up?

I meant I doubt we get Doan now because of the cost. I'm really hoping Brooksie is right and that the plan is Nash + Doan and somehow some way it can work out dollars wise.

Right, but Erixon's cap number was included in that calculation, which assumed he was on the team. So if we're using those three players we have to account for an Erixon replacement as well.

I read the 3rd goes back to CBJ if NYR goes to SCF.

We always had around this much space even before the trade..

we can work it out $$ wise, the question is should we? depends on the cost IMO. anything more than 3 years is a no from me.

The Rangers have $54,958,334 in salary on the roster at this moment.
The Rangers have roughly $63.2m in salary hitting the summer cap at the moment. (it's only rough because I never updated my spreadsheet to reflect the difference between 185 regular season days last year and 186 the year before)

You guys figure out the cap space yourselves.
