What about someone like Jason Arnott for 3rd line center? which would push Boyle to either the wing on the 3rd line or the 4th line center?
Yup... just stated this on another website. Only on a 1 yr deal though. He would be a great fit. Kubina on the last D pair as well. All one year deals as to not affect next summer's RFAs.

Yeah I'd see whats out there on a 1 year deal that could help the bottom 6 (third line mostly) and the defensive depth.
that Towes dude held up alright as a captain and he's pretty young too...
Don't get me wrong, but I just don't think you can have too much leadership in NY if you go into a season as contender.
If you look at how young we are, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have an older leader like Doan, who is really hungry for a Cup on top of it all.
I am sure we could survive without him too though. We would get him for free, and if the cap hit is acceptable I just agree with whatever poster I quoted that he would be "ideal".
On the Core “we have a very young hockey club and Brandon and Artie were part of that, but this strengthens our hockey club. With Kreider coming along we think we will be fine.”
“If you look at the money traded in this deal, we come out on the upside. Artie has one year left on his deal and was going to get a big raise. The money is a wash and as far as the CBA is concerned, we don’t have any idea where it will go. We still have to operate under the current rules.

I'm 100% in favor of bringing in doan
Just didn't think it was fair to discount callahans leadership based purely on age
Why was keeping this group of young players important “Most of these guys have grown up together, have good chemistry and get along. Nash doesn’t break up the core and he is basically the same age as everyone else. We have kids coming up and this kind of quality hockey player doesn’t come along all the time.
“I was very excited. Looking forward to this opportunity and helping what I think is already pretty special what they have going on with the Rangers.”
“It was a tough time, a tough period of five months. The good thing is it’s over and I can look forward to next year.”
“I think they already are one of the top teams in the league and the players they have there is pretty impressive right from the goaltender and the defense and right on up. I’m proud to be part of the organizaiton and the whole city.”
On Shea Weber pushing this trade forward “No. We were always in the hunt for Nash and it was something that Scott had to get his mind around. The Weber deal had NOTHING to do with this”
“Initially I went in with Scott Howson and trying to get a gameplan … was told there was going to be a rebuild. I’ve been here nine years and felt I could be a main piece of a rebuild for them …. i could help them rebuild and help my career … I thought the Rangers were perfect. I think it was a great fit for my style.”
I wonder if Doans visit Friday pushed this. If he signs here then it could be looked at like the NYRs don't need to make this trade. Philly just spent a ton on Webber, another team out.

Rick Nash said it was a relief to learn about today's trade to #NYR. Said there's been a lot of "limbo" for him since February.
I watched Dubi and Artie grow up on this team, loved their time here, but Rick Nash is ******* Rick Nash, he is going to make the Garden go nuts. Can't wait to see him pummel the Isles and Shea Webs 12 times a year. Oh yeah, and run it up on those old guys across the river!
