Pretty close....

Actually losing Erixon is the only real sting in this deal for NYR

Doubt Doan had anything to do with this. Howson likely finally decided he wasn't going to get much more than NYR had on the table, and decided enough was enough. Pull the trigger and move on with the business of running the franchise.

I don't know what was "mentally draining" about it. Sure he had a **** ton of reporters asking him but that couldn't be it.

I think that could definitely have been a factor.

feels like an overpayment considering dubi will pick it up again this year... my first response was "ARTY NOOOOOO!!!!!", but i have a soft spot for him.

at least we made a move... time will tell how it pans out.

I was at the CBJ game. Thought the "we dont want you" chant was ridiculous. I'm sure everyone who was participating is ecstatic today.

He was mentally drained, and tied that game with like a minute left, not bad haha.

Draining why? Because he saw how awesome it was playing at MSG?

I'm a bit confused by that statement.

The Rangers have been smitten with Nash for a while

March 27,2011

When, if ever, does it reach the stage that the Blue Jackets investigate what kind of a package they can get in return for Rick Nash. And if that time is this summer for a franchise that has one playoff appearance in its 10-season history and remains on the road to nowhere, then all those kids the Rangers have would most certainly be in play.

Wow what a great trade...of course i hate the rangers but really kept the important part of your team intact and picked up a 30 and potentially 40 goal scorer with richards...and really a wash on the cap...if we get weber and yes were going for doan or ryan to its going to be a hell of a division...congrats...

Cuz lots of trade talks going on, playing a team he might get traded to at any minute, not knowing his future

I can see that game just kind of putting everything up front and in his face but he's still expected to go out and play his best for the Jackets

I'll definitely miss Dubinsky. He's a heart and soul guy.

Anisimov and the 1st rounder (despite it being a deep draft) I don't care much about.

Erixon is a big wildcard here. He'll either be a 1st pair D-man, or a steady 2nd pair guy. Frankly, I'm surprised with how much it took to get him here that they'd just ship him out like that.

Probably because of the irony of all the trade rumors and playing @ MSG right before the deadline. Also, some idiot fans chanting "We dont need you" or whatever couldnt have helped.

Take last year's 109 point team; subtract Dubi and arty and add Kreider and Nash. The bottom six changes are a wash. Are we better? You bet your ass we are!

He was upset he wasn't traded here, man. He really wanted to be a Ranger at the time and then he knew he'd have to play the rest of the year in that ****hole and then deal with it all this offseason. I don't blame him for being mentally drained.

Congrats, Rangers fans.

I'm a big fan of Nash - he'll be awesome with a supporting cast around him.
