As I once asked in another topic....

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody's there to hear it, does someone on the Blackhawks board still find a way to blame Bowman?

This a bit overstated on this board as well.

Yeah, the fact that we're constantly surprised at the packages we've seen big players dealt for, not to mention the offer sheet to Weber, regardless of conference should be a bit perturbing to anyone without blind faith in Bowman. This has nothing to do with us wanting Nash, it has to do with us having needs that we haven't made serious moves for. You can't constantly make excuses for not getting net presence, proven top 4 dman, or a solid/prospect goaltender considering the manner in which other big market teams seem to be addressing their own needs.

OH, but Bowman can't get that guy because he ***** his ****** and wants to ***** on this ****** team and won't trade to here because his sister doesn't live by our division and his GM doesn't like us blah blah blah.

I wonder why we weren't on his list. It couldn't be b/c he wanted to leave the division...b/c Detroit was on the list. It can't be because we suck...he said he'd go to SJ and I don't think they're a markedly better team than us (in fact I think we're the better team).

...so why didn't he want to come

Anybody who wanted Nash here should probably learn a thing or two before posting.

His cap hit is retarded, he didnt want to come here, and it would of took something like Bolland, Stalberg + Saad or TT to get him judging by the return they got.

That is just stupid.

Who knows?

Maybe he's heard bad things about Q.
Maybe he's heard bad things about the front office.
Maybe he doesn't like some of the players here.
Maybe he doesn't like deep dish pizza.

Who cares? Not every player is going to want to play everywhere.

It could be as simple as he didn't want to fight for ice time with the two All-Star RWs already on our roster.

I don't care that he didn't want to come...I'm just interested in what his reason was. That's all.

proven commodity? The only think nash has proved the past half decade is that he can get hyped up and is a horrible captain.

It's just typical HF thinking that you can trade scraps for legit players.
Thats a big reason why Bowman is hated.

The Rangers also got a top prospect, IMO, in Dan Delisle, and a third-round pick. Levels it out a bit.

Also........
Fast fact:
The Rangers cleared .025 M in cap space with this deal.

I really like Artem Anisimov. I liked him before the gun incident, if you're going to accuse me of that. Don't ask me why, but I really like him as a player, good for strengthening our bottom-six. But CBJ has him now and nobody sane trades within the division.

When he played with talented players (IE. Team Canada) he excelled. Time will tell, but you may eat those words and be glad he's gone to the East.

You mean when he was on the "third line" of a team that had a forward group that looked like 4 first lines in the NHL? That's not just playing on a team with talented players, that's playing on a ridiculously stacked team in which you have a clear advantage over your opponent.

Addition by subtraction for CBJ. Nash isn't the type of guy you want leading your franchise. It'd be like Kane without Hossa/Sharp/Toews.

With Nash aboard, the Rangers could very well have the best top 6 in the NHL. In Colombus, Nash was always keyed on by opposition. In NY that will be much more difficult.

People are really discounting Nash, can you imagine a ling of Nash-Toews-Hossa? Wow!

Also, who said they're trade Nash straight up for Kreider, that's just awful.

Good deal for both teams in my opinion.
