Dubinsky will likely wind up with top line minutes. He'll be wearing an A soon and yeah, I'm going to hate playing Columbus now.

I'm guessing sarcasm but it would be absolutely hilarious if true.

Sarcasm. The only team that gets insulted straight to their face like that is the Islanders.

I would not be surprised if he is a rangers defenseman a few years from now.

It hurts me to see Dubinsky go. We all knew there would come a point where one of these post lockout homegrown kids would have to be moved to make us better. That day is today. Dubinsky was my favorite player and I will continue to root for him. He gave his all in the time he had in this organization.

fantastic trade. I'm furious about it, but I know you all gotta be beaming about this. This also helps a lot in the win now department. Damn I hate it. congratulations

The rangers wont be playing cbj. Don't know how you can be worried about playing them.

He'll be a Ranger the first year he is eligible for FA. I almost promise that will be the case if he fits into our plans.

Whats with this attitude about how we should be earmarking roster spots for prospects? Thats continuing to ignore the depth problems that plagued the team last year.
Our forward depth is fine, and at this point I'm OK with the defensive depth at an AHL level. What we need is one more right handed NHL dman. A forward like Doan would really round out our lineup well, meaning even without Gaborik we would have 6 forwards int he top 6 belong there.

No question, threat of #Flyers getting D Shea Weber led #NYR to becoming more urgent in talks w #CBJ. Told Erixon included late last week

The Columbus spin is out.

Dreger reported the same components were in place last month but Howson waited and waited.

The Rangers kept McDonagh,DZ,Stepan,Kreider and Hagelin.

Erixon was in the February deal.

I really believe cbj fans and people who are claiming highway robbery really dont know jack about the players that were sent the other way. Dubi and AA could very well put up the same amount points and more than nash over the course of the year. Dubi adds great leadership, grit, lower cap hit/age, and when he's on he is a pretty effective player. CBJ fans will love him. AA has the skill set and the size. He doesn't play so gritty but has nice playmaking ability, even younger. And Erixon has a boatload of talent, will push for a spot out of camp, good size and ability. 1st round pick in supposedly a good draft.

It was a fair deal. Past the blue chip/untouchables from team to team, the rangers had the players that other didnt. SJ might have been willing to deal Pavelski but theres no guarantee he re-signs in cbj. BOS didnt have a dubi/anisimov package to trade. DET was pretty obvious a no go. PHI made other moves.

That's how I feel...if this deal was Hagelin/Anismov/Erixon and a #1, I'd be thrilled right now. Losing Dubi is the only part of this deal I don't like, and mostly because he's been a favorite of mine even before he came up. On paper this is a great deal for the Rangers, but, it hurts to see Dubi get moved.

I hear ya and feel the same way.

Happy with it overall, but I will miss watching Dubi.

I can't help but think Erixon will eventually make his way back to NY.

Dubi had to be moved cause of his salary.
