"Yeah absolutely, I'm excited about the value we got today. I wasn't going to make the trade unless I was happy about the value coming back and today was that day."
more or less what Howson said. haha yeah like that value and then some wasn't staring you in the fact since day one when the value you wanted was one of Kreider or Stepan and one of MDZ or McD...
I guess this puts an end to Vitto proposing the "Dubi/Anisimov for Clowe" trade he's been pimping. Of course, he could always troll the CBJ board and see if they'd make that offer to SJ.
I think it was probably Dubinsky, since he literally just got married.
Nah it was Anisimov. Howson said he spoke to Dubinsky and tried to get ahold of Anisimov but he was in Fiji, most likely with cinder blocks tied to his feet trying to jump off the dock.

I keep thinking at least they're going together. lol like they will see each other at camp and are all like "ohhhh i know you! lets sit together."
Could just be a replay of what he said earlier or it could be a live phone call, but I'm watching the Met game and they cut to the SNY studio and they said "After the game, we'll here from the newest Ranger, Rick Nash"
It's up to you to waste your time waiting for something that may be his conference call being replayed on SNY.
It's funny. I sit here most of the year and I'm one of a handful of people with a generally positive outlook on Sather and the way things are running on the team. Today, just about everyone is celebrating. Meanwhile, I'm unsmiling and trying to get through the sticker shock and not worry too much about depth issues and potential chemistry problems.
And Prospal will be there, all gigantic smiles and fake tan
it's going to be adorable, i'm not even kidding either they'll all sit around smiling and Dubinsky will softly blurt out, "I'm the best ****ing player on the team right now." They all keep staring straight ahead in silence for a second before Prospal calmly says, "Yeah you are.."
I believe Gorton and Clark believed Miller would be ready at this point, when they drafted him.
He's a player they've always had on an accelerated development path. And Miller himself.
That's why they wanted him signed ASAP as did he, when they drafted him.
He's going to start in Hartford. They moved Wellman out, i believe,to specifically make room for Miller.
The lockout will allow Miller a couple/few months of good professional play. And when the lockout breaks and NHL teams hit the ice, i believe there's a strong possibility he will be in New York.
Over the course of the next few years, the insertion of cheap young players is going to be very important for this club.
Lundqvist, Stepan, McDonagh, Staal, Girardi, Callahan, Kreider, Hagelin, Gaborik...they all need New contracts in the next three years.
Another player i feel is a strong candidate for earning a spot here soon, is Yogan.
i have a feeling that if things don't work in Phoenix and Doan wants to find a relatively young team with the potential for winning a Cup and a need for a 3rd line guy with insane leadership and veteran presence he's got his match made in Heaven. Nash just makes it more appealing now...
Fwiw, most GMs around league expect Nashville to match
Fraudland keeps tweeting this...
Quote:
The Preds have ALWAYS had the money to match the Weber deal. Remember they had offers out to Suter and Parise. What's best for Preds is ?
Can they pony up the 26 mil or so in the 1st year? That seemed to be the biggest issue. Personally I hope they do for the sake of their franchise and more so screwing over the Flyers.
This could backfire on Holmgren. If the Weber offer sheet pushed Howson to cave knowing that his other suitors for Nash are down to zilch, and Holmgren doesn't get Weber, he might as well go buy new underwear if Nashville matches because.... His defense without Pronger is suspect, his goaltending is as good as a larger than normal traffic cone, and his offense took a hit losing Jagr and not getting Parise.

I never agree with you 100%, not even 1% on most things, but here I do. This year was proof of that with Hagelin during the regular season and Kreider during the post season. Last year with McDonagh and Sauer.
I agree that he's a 2nd liner, but if Callahan were on the third line that would be a great thing for the Rangers, as it would mean great depth.
You can't cut Cally's minutes too much by dropping him to the 3rd line. He's too much of a spark out there and the team feeds off his energy too much. He's shown himself to be a 30 goal scorer when he gets his minutes. Keep him with 2nd line minutes, even if you bring Doan in.
