Oh the days of Rozsival, Drury, Gomez passing the puck to each other for a full 2 minutes on the power play with 1 shot that deflects wide... Oh wait. nothing has changed.

If Lexus is right, then Crosby, Malkin, Staal and Hossa on the same team at the same time should have caused the earth to explode.

I like the option of Kreider and Hags being able to switch between the third and first, since they will almost certainly struggle sometimes
Nash and Gabby should be on separate lines, since they'd just drag each other down with scoring. Stepan will have two options to pass to, both of which can be physical, and versatile.
And as mentioned, if we must, we can ice our own OV - Backstrom - Semin
Where is Doan going

Not as big if Stepan or MDZ went back the other way.

I've wanted a shot-addict on the team since the start of last season (would have preferred Carter) so I know where you're coming from.

But it doesn't work that way, sorry. Again this is not Columbus we have other star players. Somebody's numbers will dip and Nash will still need 300 shots to hit 30.

Simply have to have multiple threats of GRADE A talent to go all the way. Even if he doesn't score 20 gwg's, He's a great player, an upgrade to Dubi.

The PP is always a crapshoot chemistry wise, but I assume everyone of us is pretty excited to see what Nash brings to the PP chemistry

If the PP could be the one facet of the game to really take a positive step forward this team would be VERY difficult to beat.

That's why they wanted him signed ASAP as did he, when they drafted him.

He's going to start in Hartford. They moved Wellman out, i believe,to specifically make room for Miller.

The lockout will allow Miller a couple/few months of good professional play. And when the lockout breaks and NHL teams hit the ice, i believe there's a strong possibility he will be in New York.

Over the course of the next few years, the insertion of cheap young players is going to be very important for this club.

Lundqvist, Stepan, McDonagh, Staal, Girardi, Callahan, Kreider, Hagelin, Gaborik...they all need New contracts in the next three years.

Another player i feel is a strong candidate for earning a spot here soon, is Yogan.

...as in Miller is the new Dubinsky. Yeah, I could buy into that. Love Miller's intensity level.

Glad you brought that up because that's my other rationalization. Bring in enough stars and eventually the PP will work...I think.

Never really went away. In fact , we are hated more now because despite luring other teams top talent to want to be here we actually have one of the more impressive homegrown cores in the UNIVERSE.

I really don't think so.

He was a PPG player in the Swiss League during the lockout though. There's another rationalization.

Riddle me this batman,
03-04 269 shots 41 goals
05-06 170 shots 31 goals
06-07 228 shots 27 goals
08-09 263 shots 40 goals
09-10 254 shots 33 goals

Excluding his rookie season 5 of 8 seasons he had under 300 shots. Where does this he needs 300 shots to score 30 come from? Based off 2 seasons? The other year he had 329 but scored 38 goals.

I still don't see your point on shots when he has shown he doesn't need 300 shots to score 30 goals. He has done it before.

Doan is a pipe dream. He's staying in the West. Either PHX or VAN.

I'm having a tough time thinking of a star player who was buried on a team as long as Nash. As good as his attitude might have been, losing drags you down. I'm really excited about his potential. Stats almost never tell the whole story (exhibit #1 - Alexander Semin)

Re: Doan...the challenge to the Glendale lease is officially over. The petition was rejected and the guys trying to block the lease couldn't find a local law firm willing to go to court. Now it's up to Greg Jamison. Either he shows up with his ownership group (or someone miraculously comes out of the woodwork) and signs the lease or it's all over here. If that's the case, I absolutely see him as a Ranger next year.
