I think we would all trade Read, Mez, and Cousins for Ryan, but there's no way Anaheim does.

Agreed. Maybe now though Ryan's price will come down. With that being said, however, if Weber is traded for to get our picks back it is likely we won't have the pieces to get Ryan. The only pick I would want back in anything is the 2014 pick since we're hosting the draft (and I would want to go).

i dont care i'll pull the trigger on courts and sign arnott for 2 to 3 years for Laughton to develop, maybe he'll make the team and be just as good a courts, i think maybe that's why they drafted laughton in case they had to make a trade involving courts even though they say they are not trading him but i think he might have to pull the deal if there's no other options, he's a good player but he's young too and traded sisba look what happened.

they have to do something to compete with the rangers or else this team will not compete with them.

The Rangers dismantled the Flyers last year, without Rick Nash. The Flyers need to learn to beat the Ranger's style, not the players.

Nash to Rangers is irrelevant, in context.

Despite the fact that he's younger and he has a more manageable cap hit, I hope the price for him just dropped a bit after what Nash fetched. If we land Weber, can swing a trade for Ryan, and then somehow get Doan too good god. I'll forgive Homer for Shelley, Leighton, Carcillo, and Walker.

Darren Dregs said on a podcast earlier today, the Flyers where pursing Doan and Bobby Ryan with and Offer Sheet in place for Weber. Sounds to me like Homer isn't happy with just one.

Don't add him back in there. You've already gotten Weber and Ryan without giving up Couturier, Simmonds, or anyone named Schenn. There's zero chance you'd do that and not give up Read.

I don't entirely disagree, but Voracek, Mez, and Cousins seems like payment enough for Ryan. Ducks fans disagree, and we're battling it out again on the trade rumors page...
So I think there's a chance

I doubt the price has come down for Bobby Ryan.
Would prefer to just sign Doan if we land Weber.
I am not even sure Mez,Read and Cousins would be enough for Bobby Ryan

until I realize it most likely has no chance.

Unless you're assuming Nashville walks away from Weber, you're not leaving much to get that one done. A bunch of AHL players doesn't get the job done.

Why isn't Wayne Simmonds ever mentioned in any rumors. Id trade him + for Ryan so fast and keep jake. And why do people have this idea Pronger is coming back? If he was ok would we be this deep into signing suter/weber??

This would be an absolutely nasty roster. What would happen if the Cap isn't at 70 mill to start the season, as the general opinion tends to be that the cap will be closer to last year 65 then 70.

Who would you guys get rid of if this happens? Being a Ranger fan I hope the cap turns out to be 70 as well but not thinking it is likely.

If Ryan really loves the Flyers and has connections, wait for him to be UFA and he'll sign with us. In 2015? He'll be 28, could be good.

Matt Read has the most value of any trading chip the Flyers got.
900k cap hit 26 years old scored 20+ goals.

Plus, he did it as a rookie. Even if he was 25, it was still his first NHL experience and will improve.

I do, I'm calling their bluff. Even if they want something in return...I can't imagine we'd have to send a lot

Even though some teams struggle to reach the cap floor, there are several who have no problem reaching the ceiling, and I'd be surprised if the NHL pulled the rug out from under them and reset the cap $5 million lower. If they did that, then there'd almost HAVE to be an amnesty clause. Then a whole other debate starts.

Agreed I just don't know if small - mid market teams are going to be for a amnesty clause since they won't want a team like the Rangers with 13 mill in cap space offering a guy like semin 8 million dollars for one year, only to have the cap dropped and him be amnestied in.

I don't want Voracek to be traded. If it means not getting Ryan, so be it. Obviously Ryan is better, but I think Jake can be a star in this league. I kind of have a soft spot for Jake.

Do you think the Ducks would take Giroux, Schenn, Couturier and our firsts until 2027 for Ryan?

Would Ducks fans find this acceptable?

Come on man. We'd clearly have to add Voracek, Simmonds, and Coburn in that.
