Great news! Would like to see him make an impact at the nhl level next season but its definitely better for him to stay in Sarnia and rack up huge minutes. Bring on 2013-2014
Would like us to take a bit (not a lot) of time with him...
One more season at Sarnia (juniors).
And then...40 games or more in AHL.
He'll be 20 or 21 when he plays full-time in the NHL.
So, he'll only get that 1mil/year (NHL salary) in the 3rd year of this contract. And maybe he'll get some NHL salary in the 2nd year of this contract. For now it's junior money and then AHL salary
($50 000 to $100 000/year?).
Go Galchenyuk Go!! (can't wait but better to wait a bit for his development).
Is it me or it is not...enough? Especially for a 3rd overall pick. Performance bonuses are not know I bet.
So he got the max for base salary with 925K. I imagine with the bonuses it's gonna be around 3,25M but I wouldn't be surprised to see him getting the max like Yakupov (3,775M).

Pretty sure he's almost physically ready. One more year of junior to dominate the league and we'll see him at the Bell Center. He's got such a special work ethic that, even if it's not my 1st choice, I wouldn't be surprised to see him cracking the lineup this fall.

I guess Gomez has to go somewhere though, and White will be up there as a spare...
IMO Galchenyuk/Nokelainen will be out, Gomez/White will be in. No need to rush the kid, his development level is that of someone who won't even be drafted for another year
