Just a little late

This is starting to look like damage control. Sign all of our players quickly then lose Shea... or it could be look at all the players we signed PLUS Shea.

So many possibilities.

My guess is all these deals are a precursor to big deal of matching Weber and saying we have the finances to keep our guys.

Maybe Wilson signed an offer sheet with Philly.

Realize Gopreds is joking, but I feel like the agent wouldn't have said "news out of Nashville" nor made a preemptive statement about a client, unless it was good news for the fans of his current team.

Me too, but Wilson would be a fool to sign any longer than 2 years.

Wishful thinking. I am guessing two year deal. I also don't have the warm, gooey feelings most have for Wilson though.

Please don't joke right now. Wilson is that little shred of hope that's keeping me going right now. I assume they're waiting on the Weber situation to end before making a large commitment.

5yrs @ 2.75-3m.

I want him locked up.

Maybe the "news out of Nashville" is his client is "out of Nashville." Maybe he should have went with: "look for news out of Barry Trotz' doghouse: Barry just filled up the water bowl."

Boy if Wilson is what you are holding onto hope for I feel really really bad for you.

That deal will never happen. Wilson will be looking for $4M plus if it is for 5 yrs ala JVR

Thanks bud. Ruining my buzz over here. (it's past noon EST so all is good)

I've seen the potential he has. I just wish Trotz would let him off the leash a little bit.

If he signs a contract for 4-5 years, I could easily see him and his agent asking for that much in the later years.

Not to mention the team might have to get above the cap floor.

Sure would like to see Wilson signed for 4yrs and $2Mper. Maybe a 5th yr option for $3M. Also would like to see Bourque, Smith, Horny, Ellis, Josi and Fisher signed to some longer contracts.

Pretty good value here, but you knew he wasn't going to really get anything over 3 unless it was a very very long term deal.

good deal.. the three years tells Wilson "we arent giving up on you"

the money says "go prove you are worth more"
