I will absolutely miss them too but to start looking for them to come back is when it gets too much.

Truly no offense to callagraves, just the vibe I'm getting from this thread.

None taken, and for the most part I agree with you. Anyone who wants to see the team win does this trade every day of the week and twice on sunday.

I would like some nigh unimaginable series of events that makes CBJ itching to get rid of Dubi at the deadline, the salary cap going up, and us having the space and ability to bring him back. I understand it's likely-hood.

Part of me thinks that for all he gave, he deserves more than to be traded to Columbus.

But then I see his cap hit and think "well at least he'll never have to worry about money again."

I've always been a big Dubinsky supporter and stuck up for him when he was unnecessarily bashed here by fans with short term memories. I think that for whatever reason he just had a bad year. He's a good player, a good teammate, and a good guy. I have met him at several charity events. I'm really sorry to see him go but it became obvious that if Nash was coming he was going.

On the other hand, I'm happy Anisimov seems to have been substituted for whatever Sather didn't want to give up. I think he's a typical underachieving Russian that shows flashes of brilliance but not nearly as often as he should.

Let's hope Nash makes it worth it.

They were both good Rangers.

Who are rival fans going to hate now that Dubinsky is gone? He always caught a lot of flak around here.

Artie always brought many laughs with his interesting personality.

As sad as I am losing those two, no one player is above the team.

Ditto. Unfortunately for Dubi, lousy seasons at high cap hits will doom you every time. Hope to hell he rebounds in Columbus.

Dubi, Callahan, Staal and Girardi were the new wave of NYR in my eyes. They went out on the ice and said, through their play, "this isn't going to be a team where lazy has-beens come to retire - this is going to be a team that plays hard hockey, a team that makes up for lack of skill with abundance of heart," and for the most part, those guys stuck to that. Though there's more skill now, NYR is still a team that plays that type of game, as exemplified by the man who wears the C. I don't think it's too much to hope that one day the one guy who is missing from that group comes back. I don't want him on his current contract, I don't want him on the top line, I don't want to undo this trade, but if he ends up being a solid grinder with a reasonable contract again at some point, I think it would be nice to have him back on this team because he did a lot toward establishing the current identity.

yea I am going to miss both and will cheer for them in CLB. Dubi is a hardworker just had trouble putting it in the back of the net. Arty is very talented just in conistent.

2 yrs ago I would of never wanted to move either guy. But the team has evolved and they got a top scorer in the game back.

btw no more Russians in the system?

I remember going to Dubinsky's first game at the Coliseum, which happened to be the Hollweg-Simon game. I loved Dubinsky as a player and person, despite my frustration with him this season.

Anisimov was one of my favorite Rangers too, and I've been defending him since his rookie year. I think both of them will achieve great things in Columbus and blossom into the 2nd liners I know they can be.

Thanks for the memories over the years, and good luck

I wish Dubi and Arty a bunch of luck in the future. Hopefully Dubi can start something special over there in Ohio with Johansen, get that guy going for em. I'm happy Toots is there to help those guys out when they get over there.

Criticizing ex-Rangers on the basis that they didnt help us win a cup is just silly, especially considering that the current squad hasn't won anything yet.
