Shannon also said a few months ago that Brown was a cancer in the LA dressing room and would likely be traded, and two weeks ago that there was a large chance Ryan would be a Maple Leaf within a few days.

He is a massive attention seeker, slagging off teams and players, the guy loves even negative attention.

He also said that the Nashville curfew breakers were in a bar at 4am... when the bars in that area closed at 2am... no one else reported that time.

He also works for sportsnet... so he knows nothing!

So an NHL exec told J Shannon Preds match. Another told D Dreger they won't. My take: neither one actually knows.

There were actually numerous sources saying that there was no way they could see Brown back as captain next year.

We should trade them Jake + Mez + 2 1sts and be done with it.

Then immediately resign Jake to an offer sheet.

LMAO, I actually asked someone about this on twitter the other day... Obviously Nashville would match that one because the Flyers wouldn't put too much money into it, but that would be hilarious/terrible.

Nashville ownership has spent 70 million patching holes in the budget in the last 5 years..
and now Poile is asking them to gamble 26 million next year and tie up nearly the entire value of the franchise in Weber/Rinne.

No way.

Good thing I don't have a job, or I'd have no productivity!

So they've backloaded Wilson's contract. Hmmm. I think they're bluffing. Why announce that now? Seems to be a blatant message that "we can match and we're going to" to Homer. Hope he calls their bluff now.

I just don't get that if they can match why they don't just get it over with. If they're holding out for a huge trade that's one thing but I somewhat trust the people that have the teams have only spoken once since Weber signed. So is Poile's thinking really just "let's make them sweat it out all week and they'll give us Courturier and Schenn" without ever trying to contact them?

It's common for teams to do that to RFA contracts
