Eagerly awaiting the Philadelphia Flyers Quebec City Predators games in a few years. Our luck Weber will be traded to Pittsburgh next offseason. Sucks but time to move on.

Oh well. Hopefully Nashville has the finances to swing that, or they're gonna be in some deep poop.

I'd prefer a shortened season. The first 40 games don't mean **** all anyways

LOL, well said!

Anyway, I like the idea of signed Semin but for no more than 2 years. I don't really want to overpay an aging Doan.

I would be fine with resigning Jake and rolling with who we have. I just hope there isn't a lockout. (Prepare to be disappointed, I know.)

If Weber wants out the predators will trade him and get a lot more than just 4 1st round picks. If the flyers want him they are gonna have to give up Read, Gustafsson, and/or Mez. I would send Gustafsson, Mez, and 3 1st round picks to get Weber.

Feel like its going to be one hell of an awkward locker room for the Preds. Their captain just tried to leave town and most likely bankrupted the Preds organization.

Wow. Big bummer oh we'll worth the chance. I think we still have a decent team. I'm not scared of Rick Nash.

Ah well... was a fun (read stressful) few days, props to Homer for having the balls to pull that off.

Should be interesting to see the fallout from this on Nashville's side, both from a Weber view (though I reckon he is the kind of guy who shuts up and plays), and also from Nashvilles financial view within a few years.

With or without Weber, to me it come down to if Bryz is good enough to get the job done. He needs to be much better than what we saw last year.

Yup.

Dubinsky, Anisimov, Erixson, and TWO 1st round picks. Get ready for that payment equivalent!

Anyone see their official statement? Seems like they matched only to make a point to the league that "they won't be bullied."

The Predators are not going to trade him now. He's there for life.

First, I don't think this was the Flyers intention, you are rationalizing after the fact. Second, I seriously doubt the Flyers administration was ready to make a 110 million $ gamble to keep in in the West, that would be ludicrous.

Poop

That's about all I've got.

I love the main board, declaring Philly blacklisted by every GM in the league now.

The backlash to trading him a year after locking him up for life would cripple that franchise beyond repair.

They MUST keep him now. They can't hide behind the "Flyers bullied us" excuse.

I don't think any of us want them too... but with their financial reports from the last few years, if there is a lockout there is the guaranteed reality that they will be in big financial trouble.

Nasville fans are IMO one of the expansions success stories... a franchise doing well, and having a good number of fans in a non-traditional market, and I wish them all the best. (apart from in a final against the Flyers!)

Then you will have to trade them to whichever team Nashville trades Weber to because I strongly doubt Nashville will ever trade him directly to Philly.

Of course they wanted him. The point is the small benefit to just making the attempt is to keep him from Pittsburgh and New York.

Your point that signing someone to an offer sheet is "classless" is worthy.
