Also, IF Nashville does trade Weber (365 days later), a SIGNED Weber (who would be pretty damn cheap after the first 4 years) will bring back a TON of talent in return and have MANY teams interested, so Philly would not be getting him for cheap (if they do)
Keith Yandle would be another option for the Flyers. Maloney is not going to trade him unless he gets a great return. Philly would have to give up Couturier or B Schenn in a Yandle deal.

All Philly essentially did is make sure the Rangers can't get him. That bidding war is going to be insanity, if in fact there is even one to begin with.

pretty much, and after this bullying offer sheet tactic, good luck getting Nashville to trade you Weber (if they decide to move him) outside of a gigantic overpayment.

Trading couturier or Schenn for Yandle is stupid imo. For Weber, absolutely, but Yandle? I think they are better off looking elsewhere.
So I hear the talk on Doan, but is anyone really a fan of Jeff Halpern?
I'd like to bring in another center and either slide Boyle down to the 4th line or get a different veteran for that 4th center spot. Or is Halpern likely just to be the guy?
Obviously we need at least 1 defenseman too. Who is available?

Gilroy hasn't signed yet, has he? Haha.
I would love Boyle on the 4th line, (would give us some really good depth) ,but I have a feeling he's def going to be 3rd line c, Torts loves him.

halpern is 4th line shutdown style, faceoff "specialist"(like 60%), boyle would be pushed up.. don't want boyle pushed up. praying on miller
Pens defense could look real good in 2-3 years, but I think in the short term it's going to be somewhat of an issue.
If they can keep Malkin and Crosby, they have Neal for awhile longer, and several good pieces on defense, they're gonna be tough to beat. On the other hand, they will have to re-sign Letang who will ask for the moon, Crosby's injury history, not enough money to get more wing depth...
Not sure why there is so much talk of trading Weber after the year is up. He wants to stay in Nashville.
You don't sign an offer sheet unless you like the idea of staying where you are. You certainly don't sign a retirement deal unless your willing and prepared to spend your career in the town that holds your rights. If you are adamant about wanting out, you demand to be traded and potentially hold out until you are.
Take it with a grain of salt, but that NYR source central guy on twitter just tweeted that the Rangers have offered Shane Doan a 2 year contract worth 6.5 mil per.

Would be a big mistake IMO. Don't think I believe it.
