What now? (help for #6)

What moves, if any do you think the Predators will make to further improve the team in the wake of signing the Shea Weber Offer Sheet?

Nothing. We're above the cap floor and likely at our internal budget cap. I'm not expecting any more moves aside from a depth signing or two.

Leaving is Ryan Suter, Jerred Smithson, Jordin Tootoo and Anders Lindback are gone. In other words, Ryan Suter is gone. (wouldn't count AK and Rads as losses)

Coming in is Chris Mason, Hal Gill and Paul Gaustad. Then you've got Josi, Ellis, Blum, Wilson and Smith with another season under their belts. Ekholm is also now in NA and competing for a spot.

Suter is really the only difference, and I think Josi will fill in for him better than many are thinking, and then Blum steps up full time to take the role that Josi had last year. There will be bumps along the way of course, it could be Ellis at times who skates top pairing if he's really motivated. But this is essentially the same roster, still a playoff seed but not likely to be in the division hunt the same way they were last season.

So all of the moron Flyers fans saying "Yeah but good luck putting a team around Weber", need to realize that we've lost basically one player.

I would package Blum and make a hard run at Bobby Ryan. I know we are interested at Doan. He would be my 2nd choice at people we know are available. Who knows who is really available at forward. They still need that legit top center or top 3 forward.

IMHO, finding a #2 Dman is probably more crucial than adding forward help (unless you can land a high level forward like Ryan).

I have faith in Josi's ability, just don't know about this year, and just don't know if he can stay healthy.

I'd feel much better with a Kubina/Colaiacovo type on the roster.

We really need a top pairing d man still. I think trading for
J bo would be an easy target as he is Suter light.

If we could add a top six too, that would be fantastic. We have won the battle for shea, but what we do next is what really matters

New GM over coach IMO. I would rather get Weber help on the offensive side. If this team can put 3 in the net a night they have a great chance to win. We have tried the lockdown line. I truly think Weber will be ok with another D-man we have Josi, Blum, Ellis.. Unless you can get a bigger, better, and faster d man for cheaper and without losing anything i would be ok.
I truly think this team would be better served getting a True and i mean no doubt about it top line forward or center.

Why do I have a feeling that's the sort of action that would be preceded with a "hey, y'all, watch this!"

I too believe that another experienced defenseman needs to be added. Cola would be fine.

They need a scoring star forward. Those can be had down at the grocery store right?

IMO we need to sign a gue like Kubina or even Milan Jurcina (who flies under the radar.) He fills the spot well and is a physical defensive d-man. Could sign him for around 1.8 for one year and that would solidify any defensive questions. Plus you wouldn't have to play him every game, that would give ellis and blum (god forbid he's still here) time to skate.

I say we package up Blum + picks and maybe one more and take a hard run at Bobby Ryan. If not, I think we gotta sign Semin and put him on the line with SK74 and Leggy. Sniper line would do some good in Nashville as we all know we don't shoot it enough.

Next order of business is a new email campaign built around asking for Weber to NOT be given a NTC/NMC.

Maybe try to rattle the cages for a top 6 fwd or top 4 dman, but otherwise, I see us standing pretty much pat.

Realistically, we are missing a top 4 d man not a bottom pairing guy. I also think we need an upgrade to our top 6 forwards, but I would be satisfied with a top 4 d man

we definitely need an upgrade. we lack one more scorer. one more addition, the right addition, Doan or Semin, in my opinion and we will be golden.

Man, I agree. I don't understand why this is coming up. I thought it was a done deal without it. No way I'd give the $14 million man a ntc. Suck it up , big boy.
