Maybe I'm looking thru rose-colored glasses but I have a sneaking suspicion that anyone who plays with Granlund will do well.

Seriously, that alone is worth at least $7MM of his salary. He only needs to earn that last $500k to be worth it in my book.

Your not alone..

If his style of play does not get ruined by his "tinyness" then this may very well be the case...

I think 35-40 goals is a stretch when looking at his past 3 season totals..I hope im wrong and he scores 35+ cause we will need it but I think he will fall right around the 33 goal mark.

Which will be perfect for the Wild next season

I kind of want Yeo to split up the big 3 at some point during the season. Spread our offense out a bit.

Parise-Koivu-Bouchard
Heatley-Granlund-Setoguchi\

Or any combo for that matter. Just to have 2 solid scoring lines instead of one "big unit"

Yeah it's a no brainer. When Heatley was playing at his best and looking like he would score 30 he was with Koivu and Glat, and also on the PP. Heatley's entire career has been about getting someone to pass to him on that right side, OR have enough players that can get the puck to the net and he picks up garbage.

Let the guy be healthy and play with healthy players one the 1st line and 1st PP unit and it's def not unthinkable to see 35-40 goals from him again. The guy STILL has one of the best shots in the game today. It's a matter of getting him the puck while he has space.

Given how great a teammate he is and how intrumental he was in getting Parise/Suter here off the ice he is more golden then i ever thought! On it, I think he'll bounce back very well this year and at least get 30 goals playing mostly with Koivu and Parise, but he also offers verstality so if he works better with Granlund that works too.

I remember a billion rumors having us trying to trade Brent Burns for him back when he was with Ottawa.

Regardless I'm more than happy with him here now

Absolutely but its not like he scored 30 with them either. He scored 20 remember.

I think you put him on Koivu's wing with Parise and 28-33 goals is right where he ends up. You can quote it if you want.

Oh and btw I hope im wrong and he scores 40.

Theres nothing better than Heatley scoring a goal, Raising one leg pumping his fist and shouting "******* Yeah. He does it after every goal.

Its nice to have a winger his size who can throw his weight around and destroy all those tiny fast dudes

Sorry but he doesn't use his body the way he could, but that isn't his game. I don't know what you are talking about destroying fast guys. Heatley doesn't hit ever. You would think a guy that 6'4'' 225 IIRC would throw his weight around a bit more. He isn't soft but by no means is he a physical player

Heater, give me 30g on that repaired knee and Parise and Granlund to spread the attention. . . and it's 12 beer "I love you, man!" territory.

I'll take 35g. But give me 30g and you and I are best buds.

Ya know, I keep hearing comments, blogs, and mediots saying how "he's on the downside of his career, he's done, he's got nothing left, blahblahbleeblooblah" but the guy's only 31 and only 2 seasons removed from an 82 pt year. Now that he's healthy, 30g's should be well within reach. Plenty of guys have great years in their 30s. Heater's still got plenty of fuel in the tank.

My thoughts exactly. If he could get 35+ though, I'd love to make a thread titled "The re-emergence of Dany Heatley".

If he does somehow end up on the 2nd line. I'd expect him to devour bottom pairing defenders.
