Keeping it on our forums, but this whole hoping for bankruptcy and a move to Quebec is pretty low. Even when we were getting trounced by PHX in the playoffs, I don't think any of us said we hoped they got moved to Hamilton / Quebec / Albuquerque / etc.

Still 6th and 7th d spots open:

Will Blum be re-signed now?

And are we looking for a cheap 7th guy? If so I suggest Jim Vandermeer, who may come at league minimum.

The Pens board is hilarious right now. It's a celebration of .gif's.

I'm pretty sure there was from some of the more dramatic/low sportsmanship fans as the walls of that series closed around us.

On the downside, we only have a year until we'll start hearing:

"Shea Weber wants to leave Nashville, since he signed an offer sheet last season. He probably wants to play near where he's from, so I think this is a fair deal for him.

To Van:
Weber

To Nsh:
Mason Raymond
Keith Ballard

Is that too much from Vancouver?"

...the dream is still alive folks...

And then we can say, he's under contract for the next 13 years at a reasonable rate, how about anyone we want on your roster and you'll like it biznitches. The beauty of this is now no one can say well we're only getting him for one year. Weber will be here a long long time. All of the stuff about him wanting out or to play in Philly is water under the bridge and he'll be ready to lead this team.
The owners made the commitment to him and he will lead this team. I am not worried that he wants out.

Hey Preds fans. Weber's agent was just on Prime Time Sports on Sportsnet in Canada. Said he planned to ask the Preds for a NTC addendum to the contract. Said something like "it goes with the territory of deals like that".

Agents are vultures...

Glad you kept Weber. I like the Preds (and love your current jerseys!). Best of luck next season.

Congrats from a Flyers fan. Just so you know, this is not the popular opinion in Flyerland.

In fact, I am rooting on Nashville for years to come. Keep Weber happy there and avoid anything close to the Rick Nash drama.

Poile is not Howson, but the worst nightmare for Flyer fans is that the Pens somehow sneak a trade with a panicing Nashville team for Weber.

Sucks what Suter did, but you guys should be good to go for another playoff appearance next season. And plus, after 6 seasons, the real salary hit gets much sweeter for the front office.

yes, that is the agent that said Weber wanted to go to Philly and trashed Nashville.

I hope Poile tells him to stuff it. He's got his $.

Congrats to Nashville and their fans.

Nice to have an ownership group and GM that is doing the right thing.

Congrats to all Pred fans. Regardless of how Weber (or his agent) feels about being in Nashville longterm the fact that your owners stepped up to show that they are in it for the long haul is fantastic news for the franchise's future!!

For REALS? That's about the coolest thing since the Nashville Symphony started trolling the Detroit Symphony during the playoffs on Twitter.

Habs fan congratulates you guys. Terrific news on matching, four firsts from a team like the Flyers for a franchise player like Weber is garbage, glad your ownership stepped up.

He can ask all he wants, but unless Poile thinks it's the only way to keep Weber happy he shouldn't do it. Even if he does it should be a limited NTC and not a full NMC
