Um. I meant that as suggesting that Arniel had an insane grudge against him, not that he "couldn't break out". As soon as Richards came in he was sent directly to the second line and thrived like nobody's business. Another of many reasons why Arniel no longer has a job here.

And comparing Letestu to McGrattan is downright insulting. Especially since the "lineup patch" quality I was referring to was top-6, not "anywhere in the forward corps."

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

lineup patch in columbus means you are trash. i'm sorry. this isn't a case of worst player on the best team.

Now let's try to calm down on this argument. They are all in the NHL therefore they are not trash

Nonsense. They'd have to be IN the building before they could leave. When has anyone around here been logical?

Columbus has a very similar forward structure to us now without Nash so it's kinda calling Nashville trash too haha

...it's been known to happen!

Similar but not the same. Y'all have more proven forward depth than we do, and the closest we have to an Erat is Prospal (and I don't think things will work out THAT well).

Alrighty folks....now what. I don't see us being a cap team this upcoming year for obvious reasons, but what other moves will/can we make? Cap Geek has been updated and has us at $54 rounded. We have nobody else on our team we need to sign for the next season. Where's the floor?

I can see us addind a cheap vet to play the 7th dman role and insurance vs blum not panning out.

josi-weber
blum-klein
gill-ellis
vet 7th

i am ok with that

up front looking at

sk-fisher-erat
wilson-legwand-smith
hornquist-spaling-bourque
halischuck-gaustad-yip
mcgratton

i think we will take the chance on wilson and smith to be honest.

More like a top 4 d man and a top 6 forward. I think we get one or the other

I don't really count mcgrattan as a forward. We really do need a top 4 d man and an upgrade at forward is probably in order. We still need to reach cap floor...

No we aren't, Jack MacLellan is listed on the roster, but he's on a two-way and will start in Milwaukee I'm sure.

Cap floor is 54.3 M, even with MacLellan Preds will reach without a problem, as there are 6th and 7th D spots to be filled, and a work stoppage would reduce the cap floor anyway. What do you have against McGrattan? He's awesome.

We still need to improve the roster. Right now there is a sizable hole on the blueline and on the second or first line. First one is a must if we want to compete, 2nd one is a luxury I don't think we can afford. Having said that, I think we do make some upgrades. Perhaps we go for it this year after all. Go for broke

I doubt there's the money, considering what Weber is getting in bonuses.

Probably, but you have to add a top 4 d man to stay competitive. You also don't won't to waste the money you invested in weber to have a bad year do you?

Preds already have a #1D in Weber [the best in the league], this D is already better than most teams can say and competitive with Blum and Vandermeer as 6 and 7. Things happen here on a limited internal budget. That's not even to mention what Ellis may turn into with a full year. He and Shea as D partners?

Dear god I hope not. They should never be on the same pairing.

Oh no I am happy, I thought we would match, but still a lot of work to go to get the team to a cup contender. At the very
Least we need a top 4 d and wing it at forward and give Wilson and smith top 6 minutes all season long and see what happens. Personally I think adding another forward is in order but we shall see.
