I will hope all 4 players Dubi, AA, Erixon and Tyutin all do great against all the Atlantic teams except the Rangers.

Other than that, I could care less

I wish them the best of luck and maybe in the future, we see them again at some point years down the road.

He's not holding a gun to anyone's head and saying "YOU ALL HAVE TO BE BLUE JACKET FANS NOW", all he did was pose a question and some people are taking the question and a sport, or rather fandom, a little too seriously. You don't have to be a huge fan of another team to appreciate how/what they're doing and the different, interesting aspects and twangs different teams bring to the sport itself. I love watching the Wings and Sharks because they have such different play styles compared to most teams in the east and especially the Rangers and it's entertaining to watch some of the other top-flight teams in the league in action.

At any rate, I wouldn't mind seeing the BJs not do as awful as they did last season, and I hope a lot of their (possible) success is a direct result of Dubi/AA, and I hope Erixon gets a full-time spot so I get to watch him more. I was excited for next season to go to some Whale games to check him out, but alas. But the BJs are certainly not one of my favorite/secondary teams.

We can continue to root for the players and this is a situation where years down the road we gather with other Rangers fans (or NHL fans) whether much younger relatives or our age group and tell our "crazy old man (or old lady)" stories about Dubinksy, Anisimov, etc.

I do it to my cousin (18 years my junior) about Zubov all the time, and I had a temp in my office from Maryland (huge Caps fans) so we were reminiscing with names like Langway, Pivonka, Turcotte, Horova, etc. about the days when the Rangers and Caps played each other four times in eight years during the playoffs (86, 90, 91, 94).

You're not a rangers fan then. You're a fan of certain players, not teams.

Nothing wrong with that, but I wouldn't say people like you are "<team name> fans" for any team. I'd say you're a hockey fan who likes certain players.

The Rangers are my team. I do not wish any ill will towards Dubinsky, AA, et al but I don't care about how Columbus does. I'll pay attention to a point because I buy Center Ice every year and on non Ranger game days I may need another game to watch. Maybe with all the ex Rangers I'll be more inclined to watch some Blue Jackets games but that's where it ends.

If I had to pick a "2nd" team it would be Phoenix and that's because of the trade that sent Prucha out there and then Korpikoski. And since then, I've developed a liking for some of their players (Yandle, OEL, Hanzal) but I only truly root for the Rangers.

As someone else said, I root for the logo on the front, not the names on the back.

I am a Rangers fan first and foremost... then there are other teams I've been watching since I was a kid because certain players have played for them or I've just liked the team for some weird reason...

LA is my 2nd favorite since the Gretzky days.
Then you can rotate...
St. Louis - been a fan since Janney-Shanny-Hull and I always loved hearing When The Saints Go Marching in after scoring a goal in the old video games.
Edmonton - Because I followed Weight after the Tikkanen/Weight trade.
Chicago - LOVED JR as a kid, loved Larmer before he was a Ranger, Chelios, Belfour, Ruutu, Murphy, Goulet, Smith, Brown, Suter, Weinrich, Amonte.

But there are other teams I follow because they have players I like.
Bruins when they had Neely, Bourque and then Thornton.
Winnipeg and Anaheim with Selanne, and then Kariya.
Hartford - CVS Line was awesome to watch when they weren't lighting up the Rangers.

Overall, I just love hockey. I'd watch it 24/7 if I could. But I'll follow Dubi, Toots, Arty and Erixon in CBJ.

I really want CBJ to do well, but never at the expense of the Rangers however. I am a fan of one team only and that's NYR.

So a CBJ jersey, and a Rangers liberty jersey I assume. Quite the collection of great apparel.

Pretty tough for me to root for the BJs when four of my favorite non-Ranger teams play in their division.

Artie's going to be one of those guys around the league I always root for no matter, what. He's a quality individual.

I only follow the Rangers closely but I do watch a lot of Jackets games, since I live in Columbus.

I hope Dubi and AA do very well in Columbus, but I am not a fan of any other team than the Rangers.

I was born and raised in Anchorage. I became a Ranger fan when Gomez and Dubi were on the team together. I am going to stick with the Rangers even after "the trade". I hope Dubi lights it up for Columbus this year and for the rest of his career. I will be rooting for Columbus whenever they are not playing the Rangers.

Right, I have only been watching and going to NYR games since the mid 70s because I am a fan of certain players. I have bled Rangers blue for more years then most on this board, do not question who I am a fan of.

You can be a diehard fan of one team and still root for others.
