wonder if Chicago would bite on something of this nature:

To Chi
Bourque
Kaberle
2013 2nd (highest of 3 we own)

To Mtl
Hjalmarsson
Frolik
Montador

Chicago gets a top-9 winger familiar to the organization (which improves their W depth & makes it easier to use sharp/kane at centre), a PP specialis bottom-3 dman & a solid pick in a reportedly deep draft & they free up an extra 1M$ in cap space.

Habs get a solid fit for their top-4D, a top-9 winger with national team ties to our #1C (hopefully Pleks can be a mentor of sorts for the talented but inconsistent Frolik), and a steady physical bottom-3 defender (albeit fresh off of concussion issues).

value-wise:
Hjalmarsson >> Kaberle
Montador ~ Bourque
Frolik << 2nd

Frolik - Pleks - Gionta
MaxPac - DD - Armstrong
Cole - Eller - Leblanc
Moen - White - Prust
Noke/Palushaj/Geoffrion

Hjalmarsson - Subban
Markov - Gorges
Emelin - Diaz
Weber

if Frolik isn't able to secure that top-9 role out of camp, he starts in hamilton, Noke bumps to the 4th line and Moen/Prust bump to the top-9.

Not ideal, still lacking offensive depth up front, but defense is very solid (if Markov stays healthy, that top-6 can match just about any team in the league imo) & if Eller/Leblanc (and/or any of Palushaj/Geoffrion/Gallagher) can provide a solid jump in production, we should have enough scoring-by-committee while leaning heavily on our D/goaltending to compete with everyone.

with Gauthier in the Hawks ranks I can't see them turning it down... heck they might even throw in a "disapointing" prospect like Pirri while they're at it

seriously though, if they strike out on Doan, Bourque makes a lot of sense for them up front, and the downgrade of Hammer to Kaberle might just be worth ridding those other 2 contracts from their books while adding a pick.

I'd throw in another depth prospect (palushaj/geoffrion), or maybe even consider adding another 2nd rd pick to it to make it happen. Hjalmarsson would be a great fit, and with Seabrook/Keit/Oduya and Olsen ready for bigger minutes, he's probably expendable for them... just a matter of wether or not we can offer up the right return.

Aigns?

Plus why would we sign Subban to UFA status? That's bad management.

Also, I think there's a thread for this already (not trying to be a forum cop or anything)

Your first mistake, stop reading there. Gomez in AHL = no cap hit, Gomez buyout = buyout cap hit for 4 years (3.5, 4.5, 1.6 & 1.6 according to CapGeek); no thanks

Buyout period is over anyway

I wouldn't trade Bourque straight up for Gagne let alone add picks.

Buying out Gomez is also a terrible idea. I'd rather keep him around than buy him out and saddle a cap hit in 3 and 4 years.

I can see Montreal signing Doan and riding themselves of Gomez and trading Bourque.

Pacioretty - Desharnais - Cole
Doan - Plekanec - Gionta
Moen - Eller - Armstrong
Prust - Nokelainen - White

Markov - Emelin
Gorges - Subban
Kaberle - Bouillon

Price
Budaj

If they dump Gomez(trade or AHL) it makes no sense to move Bourque.

Bourque-Eller-Armstrong >> Moen - Eller - Armstrong

Bourque is a winger and gomez is a center buddy....lets also try and play the players in there prefered position this year.....that means gomez should not be on the team and bourque is a question mark for me ...in cant decide if he should get another chance

Where's Weber, Diaz and gomez? And if you were to remove the captaincy from Gionta, it would've been given to Gorges, that's for sure.

starting a thread for this crap is retarded, it's gotta stop. It shouldn't be allowed, period. The mods should make a rule about this.

And don't tell me if I don't like it don't read it.... I didn't read your crap.

If I was trading with Chicago I wouldn't mind Frolik for Bourque.

Both players look like they could use a change of scenery. Who knows if Chicago wants him back maybe Gauthier can say a kind word or two.

I think gionta is a good leader but hes small ( smaller players dont age too well ...except for st louis lol), injured his biceps ( he had a great shot...well se if its still as quick) and the fact is imo that hes not a fit for pleks...

Gorges works has hard has Cole, if not more, he's a vet, he leads the league with 243 blocks shots, which is like 50 blocks shots more than the second player, he lead the team with a +14 ...
And btw I'm a huge Cole fan, but I just think Gorges deserved it way more, and I don't want the captaincy be remove from Gionta .
