I will root for Dubi and Arty and follow them. Erixon not so much, but that is because I don't have the same attachment to him as guys like Dubi and Arty who have played for us for multiple years.

I don't have a "second team." I am a die hard NYR fan and besides that I root for Philly, Pittsburgh, the Devils, and Islanders to lose. Beyond that I couldn't care less who wins/loses. Usually in a cup final I root for the WC team.

If 80% of their fans weren't un believable *** wads, then possibly.

I’ll be happy to watch the CBJ now. I liked the past Alaska connection the Rangers had with Dubi and Gomez, also Voros and Chad Johnson played their college hockey here in Fairbanks.

I am emotionally connected with the Rangers as a team. I still have not watched any hockey since we lost last year. Including the Finals…BTW who won the cup??

I glad to pick the CBJ as my west team…. It would be great to see a line with Dubi AA and Vinny…..

Heh. If I rooted for a team based on their fan base, I wouldn't be a fan of this team either.

I never believed in the second team stuff. I'm a Rangers fan and only a Rangers fan. Every other team is an obstacle and only an obstacle.

I will be following those guys and root for them to do well. And I've always wanted the Jackets to have success, because I think that could be a really good hockey market if given a real shot. They aren't a 2nd team by any means, but that doesn't mean I can't root for their success. I'll never follow them on the level I follow the Rangers, or even the Predators since they became my second team when I lived in Nashville. But I'll pull for them a little bit.

There's no shortage of a-holes in our fanbase, that's for sure.

Difference is, were New Yorkers, its in our nature to be cocky, condescending, arrogant A-holes.

I thought people in the midwest were supposed to be nice?

Yeah, people in the south are supposed to be nice too. It turns out, they're only nice to your face.

I don't know if the midwest is that way.

QFT. I know a few nice southerners. One of them told me when you hear a woman say "Bless your heart" down here, it's their way of saying F-off, or whatever other NY thing is appropriate. I actually got written up at my first job down here for "cussing", had to quit that place before I did it again...

I don't support any team besides the Rangers.

I hope Dubi, Anisiomv, and any former Rangers do well. Luckily they went to a team that won't really give us problems. I am indifferent towards the Jackets, and that's about the most positive effect any NHL team will have on me besides NYR. I'd have much more difficult time rooting for those guys if they stayed in our conference.

I guess I am 18 years too late for that haha. I admit, I became a fan of the Rangers in the SC year, which kind of makes me a gloryhunter but I am proud to be a Ranger fan today. It was difficult for so many years, but lately things are looking up again! After years of mediocre play, I see a team that is proud to play at MSG.

I never really had any feel for the expansion teams like CBJ, Minny, Nasville and Atlanta. I am really goint to miss Artie and will follow him through the season but actually watching the games is too much. Maybe when they travel east and they don't interefere with the Rangers playing-time I might sneak in a couple of CBJ games.

I hope Dubi, Arty, Vinny, and Toots all have great seasons.

As far as Erixon goes, I don't like what he did, I never liked what he did, I never will like what he did. He can rot.

Please don't judge the rest of us on what was being said in the trade threads. If you care to wander over to the CBJ board, you will find a bunch of nice people (who have been beaten down and therefore have extremely well developed sarcastic senses of humor because most of us would rather laugh than cry about it.)

Yeah, there's a few of you guys that I know are good from the threads.

DSL I talk to on a somewhat regular basis, gojackets1, KallioWeHardlyKnewYe, and a few your other fellow Jackets fans are actually good.

If Cash for Nash wasn't so persistant on trolling 95% of the time, he's actually not a half bad poster otherwise when he actually bothers to have a discussion with you.

At least you guys aren't like the Canadiens fans... them, the Leafs fans, the Pens fans and the Devils fans are the worst.

Go view the Del Zotto/Subban thread. A bunch of arrogant habs fans who talk **** about a player they've never seen play.

I love the kid and Artie i hope they both pull out huge season and compete for the playoffs. The west is a tough conferance so the will have a lot of work ahead of them but i always thought Dubinsky was capable of a lot just wasent always wanting to commit, if he is for a full year watch out he can make an impact.

You can be a diehard fan of one team and still root for others.
If that's the case then you're not a CBJ fan now...

Your first post implied that you're switching from being a rangers fan to a CBJ fan. You can't be a fan of 2 teams.

i think the original poster didn't intend to say anyone was going to abandon the rangers cuz they traded dubi and ani...just that he was going to be checking in on that team and hoping they do well with so many ex-rangers. pretty reasonable thought. i will do that, but i suspect i'll get over it after a month or two.
