Jonathan Bernier For...

Since fans in Philly think you guys have a great "D" but a bad goaltender. I mean an "inconsistent goaltending." How about this?

To Philly:
Jonathan Bernier
Thomas Hickey

To LA:
Cutourier or Schenn

Close this, Bernier wants to be a starter, why would he come here and sit behind Bryz.

While i agree, it's kind of irrelevant considering Bernier doesn't have any say in where he's traded...

Everything about this post is wrong.

And can someone please put a pop-up for every time people sign in to HFBoards that, "Couturier and Schenn are not available. They weren't available for Weber, and they're not available for whatever you're trying to ship to Philadelphia."

Homer won't trade Schenn or Couturier for arguably the best defenseman in the league, but he'll trade one of them for an unproven goalie?

Homer wouldn't even give up Coots and/or Schenn for Shea ****ing Weber. Shea ****ing Weber. Shea. Weber.

That's the definition of untouchable.

To get a young back up with average numbers, FLyers prob have to give up both Schenns and Couts. Hickey is just a step blow Weber to imo.

Bernier, Hickey for Schenn, Schenn, Couts , and a 2nd if need be

Has Hickey done anything since being drafted? I'm not being sarcastic or anything, but I thought that he was a quasi-bust since it's been quite a bit since he was drafted (even if D take longer to be NHL ready).

I think the Kings would like a goaltender back in return. There isnt a goalie in Manchester NHL ready. Martin Jones or Berube arent NHL goalies yet.
I really dont know who is left in UFA land with backup goalies.
Hickey doesnt have the trade value some think even tho he was drafted 4th overall in 2007. If he doesnt make it this year the whispers will begin about him then begin with the letter B.
yes I know it takes awhile for defenseman to develop. but he hasnt really shown much progress in the last couple of years. he has stagnated.
I know Kings fans dont want to hear that. they would rather believe the fluff written about him in the papers around here then people that have actually seen him play.
Hickey would be a nice addition to the Phantoms. Right now thats about it.

Couturier is untouchable but we'll gladly trade Cutourier.

I get your point.

But trolling? Your moderators can check my past threads. Enough said.

However, Bernier's number from last year doesn't tell the whole story. It was just because of playing time that is why his numbers were down. His lifetime career minus last year is as follows:

15-11-3 with a 9.12 GAA with 4 SHUTOUTS

That said, he will be better than Brygz. and will be more consistent. He is calm as ice which makes his "D" not panic.

Regards to Hickey:
Offensively hasn't put it altogether YET. But, defensively had the best plus minus for all defensemen in our AHL.

Setting that aside how about this.

Counter Proposal A

To LA: Voracek
To Philly: Bernier & Hickey

Proposal B

To LA: Coutouier & a 3rd
To: Philly: Bernier, Hickey, Muzzin & Loktionov & 5th round pick

You might as well not include Couturier in any proposal, especially for unproven backup goalies. Holmgren wouldn't give up Couturier for Weber. He isn't giving him up for Bernier.

We're only 1 year into Bryz's 9 year contract. There is no way the team can afford to bring a new starter, and be stuck with a $6mil backup for the best part of a decade. The Flyers are not going to deal for Bernier

Well, I guess they're not good trading partners.
But if I were your GM, I will trade Brygz. But hey, that's just me.

But moving along.

What would it take to get Simmonds back or Voracek from you?

Bryz isn't going anywhere (for better or worse). As such we cannot get a goalie who wants starting goalie time. I'm also sure LA would not want Bryz and chances are good even if we find a team who wants him that he'll be willing to play for, they won't want to over pay for a goalie that isn't top shelf talent (otherwise we repeat pretty much every season for the past 10+ years).

Unless we get ridiculous offers for sure...like...

Couturier
for
Voracek + Couturier + Cousins

and

BSchenn
for
Simmonds + BSchenn + Grossmann

Then we take those deals.

Oh, also after rumors that Couturier and BSchenn are partying together while displaying all the characteristics of locker room cancers.
