Who was Montreal greatest player since 2000 ?

- Theodore: Vezina and Hart trophy
- Koivu
- Markov
- Kovalev
- Price
- Plekanec
- Subban: without a doubt the cutest

Anyone else?

Finally do you think that Galchenyuk will become our greatest player since... Roy ? How excited are you to have finally a potential franchise player ?

Could have been Koivu had his career not been derailed by injuries. As a result, our best player was, ironically, Markov

Markov on Defense and Koivu at forward.

I'm excited for Galchenyuk but I don't want to get my hopes too high.

Character means playing through injuries in order to win games.

Koivu took time off when he had cancer.

Ergo, they lacked character.

Koivu, Markov and playoffs Cammalleri. I've heard of players raising their game a level, but I think Cammalleri raises his play 2, or 3 levels.

Markov in his prime was our best player. Most impactful one on our team. Our record with/without him speaks for itself.

The problem I have with Markov is that unlike Koivu, he never really elevated his game to another level in the playoffs. His level of play in the post-season has been quite average.

To me it's Koivu ainec. Great leader and played some tremendous hockey for you guys. Always loved him as a player. Oh, and at the Galchenyuk/Roy comparison

All time playoff raiser was Halak!

Best player of the last 10 years: depends on the metrics. Do we consider a short blip, or the whole 10. Very few players made it through more than a few years. Sheldon Souray was very important to this team at one point, as was Kovalev, and Theordore. Then the new guys ... where would we be without Price?!? Koivu was always the heart and soul of the team, too. Hard to say.

I think the ''Markov is average'' in the POs idea has been way overblown.

Plekanec has been the best since Koivu and Markov if he had played the last few years. They are all Habs through and through that makes them the best need I say more?

Was just about to say that. It's actually kind of annoying how false that is yet is repeated all the time.

Markov, AINEC.

That being said some players had some great years in there. Theodore in 01-02/03-04. Koivu in 06-07. Kovalev in 07-08. Cammy's playoffs here were surreal. Plekanec has been great, only one really bad year since his rookie season.

But to me Markov stands alone, he was the undisputed #1 guy on the back end more or less since he started up until his recent injuries. He had never lost his post due to someone playing better!
