Saw Savages last night. Too long of a movie with a terrible ending. Benicio Del Toro and John Travolta did well, the rest of the cast was terrible.

That's exactly how I felt about it too the ending was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen in a movie

It's as if they shot both endings and couldn't decided which one to use so they just put both of them in the movie. Felt like a cop out.

Saw the new Batman.

I've seen every single batman movie, and even heard the OLLDDDDD radio series from the 40s. This was without a doubt the bestBatman movie of all time! Incredibly good.

Thought it was better than Begins, but worse than TDKR. Need to see it again though, felt it went by so fast.

I agree I think I want to see it, the reviews haven't been great but still think it might be worth a watch

Only reason I like it more is because I've always been a fan of Bane.

Life of Pi... simply amazing.

Try to go see it in 3D (even if you don't typically like 3D) before its run in theaters is over. Just expertly made by Ang Lee and it has the story to go along with it.

It's the kind of movie you'll be thinking about over and over.

Haven't yet read/seen Life of Pi, but I probably should. Seems pretty good.

I'm watching Hobbit tomorrow, will post a review later.

The Hobbit was very good, just not exactly realistic...

Not on the level of LOTR either, IMO, but still worth watching.

Hobbit was a huge letdown. I might post a scathing review in the Entertainment thread if I can summon the effort.

A movie called "The Hobbit" was not realistic? You're kidding.

In terms of survival and what not. Falling 300+ feet on a wooden bridge and no one has much more than a few cuts and bruises? Keeping 13 dwarves alive throughout all of that? I didn't mean for that to be taken as something you'd see in reality, simply that some parts really made no sense at all.

^ I explained that poorly, didn't I?

He's actually completely right with that description. You'll understand when you see it.

I heard the first half sucked and the second half made up for some of it.

After seeing the Hobbit, there is still no evidence that dwarf women exist, lol. Especially since the movie seems to focus mostly on the dwarves.

As a complete Tolkien fanboy I loved the movie. I can see how some people who aren't such would dislike it. Some things were definitely altered but for the most part Jackson was true to the source material. It is a 350 page book they are stretching into 3 movies however, which some will see as only a money grab. I believe Jackson has the best of intentions though being a huge fan himself. If you enjoy the lore and landscapes of Middle Earth the movie will be very enjoyable. I can see how the casual observer will have a problem with the sometimes slow pace though. The action sequences are very well done and I thought they did a great job of portraying the lighter tone of the book compared to LOTR while maintaining an edge.
