It's July 25th. If we're at .500 in late December then ask that question.
I understand and don't completely disagree, but I think this team is better served getting a top 6 guy in the off season, then waiting until the season and risking an anemic O and looking to buy when the price goes up.

Very good points I ultimately think Tedenby ( like Bergfors ) is getting his top 6 shot while Bernier or Carter will get promoted to the 3rd line.
When/if that proves to fail we'll see Lou make his move.
Who knows a moderate amount of production from Tedenby could become a center piece for a high end rental for the playoffs like Bergfors did. Lot of quality rentals going to be available this year.

I agree. If we're having trouble scoring, and we're looking to deal, we'll lose a bit of leverage in trade talks. That's my worry about waiting.
I don't think Tedenby will be thrown into the top 6. Then again if we take Sykora back he might be. I think the 3rd line if we pick up nobody will be Tedenby-Josefson-Bernier. Clarkson will probably go up to the 2nd line. He's a Deboer favorite too, and Tedenby is not yet.
A lot of our problems would have been solved if we had simply re-signed Ponikarovsky, and then added Sykora later, or slotted in Tedenby. We have a gap that needs to be filled, I really don't care for our offensive depth right now.

I don't like it either. If you wanted Poni back you have Zach Parise to thank. Because of Lou not wanting to sign anyone making over a million for whatever reason that was on July 1st Poni walked. Poni didn't have the patience to stay like Moose, and Sal, and Marty was never going anywhere anyway unless we didn't want him. I don't blame Poni for leaving though.
****in Parise knew he wasn't coming back, and waited around for 4 days keeping us ''In the mix'' still so he could get a good guy badge or what was it that he called it? A ''Loyalty'' badge. If Moose was even a fraction concerned about money as Parise was he may have cost us Moose on July 1st when it was reported other teams made serious offers. God knows who would have been our backup. Alex Auld, or Brent Johnson or any other goalie not currently employed by an NHL team right now.

Poni seemed scared off by our ownership situation in his interview when he got to Winnipeg.

I don't know why. It's not like Winnipeg offered him a multi year either as he only is signed there for one year. I don't know if he was offered a multi year, but I really didn't think we would give him more than two or three years anyway. There's more than a 50 percent chance in my opinion he's kicking around next Summer, and not even back in Winnipeg so I'm baffled as to why he said that. Not saying you're wrong I believe you, but I don't know why he would say that.
Also he was only on a one year contract from Carolina this past season, and maybe even the season before that was only a one year.

And a very good counter point. So, its still wait see then.
Goons for everybody! Next? One for the ECHL. Then, one for the office, you know for those jammed fax moments. Then, one in each shower staal for those hard to reach places.

Well **** then we need one more for when we play Carolina
@NHLwiki: #NHL--The #NJDevils have signed Austrian hockey league EC Salzburg forward Alexandre Carrier to a 2-year, two-way contract.
Doesn't seem like that much of a prospect, but it's nice when the random posters who show up with inside information are telling the truth.
