Don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure we no longer have his rights.

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I'd love to buy you a drink (or at least a GameTime if you don't drink) at a Stanley Cup home game and cheer on our Blues!
After I make the plans to come, I have a LOT of Blues fans to contact. Maybe we can ALL get together at a couple events.

Out of the Peoria prospects, which ones are most expected to have a good year? I'm hoping that McCrae, Ponich, Andronov, Wannstrom, and Jake Allen will have tremendous years

I have not read or heard anything about the Blues losing Jundland's rights since he plays in the KHL now.

Regarding Andronov, both JR and Korac tweeted last week that the Blues have not said anything about Andronov so that makes me wonder just what the story is.

Quote:
@lkorac10: RT @crazybluesfan @lkorac10 Sergei Andronov will spend the next season in the Blues organization...hear anything?? -- not from the Blues.
I was going to ask JR about it in his chat last week but he didn't have one. Hopefully we get more details on Andronov this week.

Lehtera and Junland are no longer listed on the Blues Cap Geek page

and neither is listed on the Blues prospects site.

Both, however, are still on the prospect running banner on this site.

However, Lehtera was just re-signed, right? Blues have his rights.

I am not so clear on Junland, but if he his not listed on either the Blues' or CapGeek, then I'll say that his rights are not owned by the St. Louis Blues.

Question, though....Lehtera was re-signed, so Why isn't he listed on the Blues CapGeek page?

Lehtera probably should technically be on the Blues Capgeek page but they only re-signed him to retrain his rights so perhaps not. I never ever heard of the Blues re-signing Junland to keep his rights so I would think that they certainly have lost his rights by now.

I was under the impression that The Blues' rights to him finished at the end of this past June. But, clearly it was the end of the 2011-12 ("International definition of 2011-12 annual season"). So, he should be a free agent now, in terms of NHL rights.

Not interrupting at all. That conversation is going as far as Junland's NHL career; nowhere.

-------------------

Jake Allen had an excellent rookie pro season and then experienced the proverbial sophomore slump. It is so hackneyed, but apropos.

We fans are quite comfortable with him. He was called up to the Blues for a few games when Halak went down against LA and played just over one NHL minute. That's nothing, of course, but he is smart and I'm sure he was cramming as much into his brain as was being pushed.

We're excited about the Blues goaltending depth.

He lost his main competition (Ben Bishop) for the #1 job in Peoria. With the job now "his to lose", he should take the reins and run with them. I expect him to do fine. He had well towards the end of last season. He's got good fundamentals and great reflexes, plays the puck fairly well, and positions well. He's got all the tools. I expect that the Peoria roster will be more stable and, thus, consistent this eason. He should have a good year.

I am interested in seeing if Cody Beach can show some NHL potential or if he is just a fighter.

Jake Allen did struggle the first half of the season but once Bichop was dealt he settled in and was solid. He should have a pretty good team playing in front of him with several AHL veterans up front and on the Blue line. Plenty of toughness in front of him.

With that lineup, they might need to change their name to Peoria Pugilists!

does Beach even make the Rivermen. he looks like the type that'll be in press box duty quite some time.

not what you want out of someone straight from juniors

Beach actually has shown some offensive potential. I really don't see why he wouldn't make it. Personally I think he will end up better then his brother has been.

Hard to say without him playing a pro game yet. I doubt they would leave him as a scratch for long period of games. What I've seen done is at the start of the season, a rookie may practice, but watches the first few games. Then its time to fill in a spot or go to the E.

Just lots of forwards in Peoria assuming all healthy...so if he makes it who gets moved out, Shattock, Sonne, or other?

I don't know if this is old or not, but the Rivermen have up a poll to see which fan-designed Rivermen jersey will be worn by the team for a game this season.

http://www.rivermen.net/jersey-poll

I voted for A. It looks clean and sharp.

B is decent, but I didn't like the stripes on the shoulder.

C is a little too old-school looking for me.

D looks neat, I actually dig the bearded old man logo. Coloring seems a tad off though, and I'm not a big fan of the cursive lettering.

Went with A as well. There is way too much going on in B, and I think C is a bit too vintage.

Very cool, thanks for the link. Obviously, everyone has different tastes.

A: OK, but that crest will only look good close up. On the ice, it will look like a lot of squiggly lines. Also arch-rival Milwaukee has done the anchor thing before.

B: Also ok, agree with a few too many stripes and that the crest is the shoulder patch from last year's alt jerseys, so cool but less creative

C: I like it. Old school may have been done, but Rivs haven't been there yet. As a jersey collector, this would stand out (in a good way)

D: Meh, don't want to go the path of NYI with the fisherman

vote C

A is my 2nd choice. Agree that B has way too much going on.

D's riverman logo is much better than the current figure who looks like All-American Dad or whatever that cartoon is called.

I agree that A is the best. Not a fan at all of the old school one. B was actually my second choice. Pretty meh about D. Not a fan really.

I like "D," myself... not a huge fan of the powder blue color, but it ties in with the sweaters Alaska wears.

"A" is good, but agree that it's too reminiscent of both Milwaukee and Norfolk/Hampton Roads (especially the old Hampton Roads logo/sweaters in the ECHL). "B" is pretty good, and I don't mind the "old-school" look of "C," either.

I have a sneaking suspicion that "B" will end up being the design that ultimately gets used, regardless of what the fans vote for, because that design uses a logo that the Rivermen already have trademarked and registered.

I like "A" best. "D" is ridiculous! Looks like a Hanna-Barbera cartoon!

Ironic, as I'm a grizzly old man with a long white beard, and a cartoonist, too! But a hockey uniform shouldn't draw too much attention. It should be streamlined and to the point. The game of hockey speaks for itself. It doesn't need fancy, gaudy, commercialised clothes. A teams logo should be easily identifiable=, but not too complicated or too flashy.
