Ottawa - No space with Spezza and Turris
Winnipeg - no space and I don't see Chevy doing it. Although we have three 2nd rounders and two 3rd rounders next year, the 2013 draft is supposed to be very deep.
Edmonton - No space in their top six.
Vancouver - Would make the most sense if they didn't have Sedin and Kesler
Calgary - I could see Feaster doing it.
They would make room for Benn, Hemsky would be off. EDM are desperately after some more size. Look at how they drafted after Yakupov.

Its not The Habs, They need their remaining cap space to sign Subban. Unless they plan to bury Gomez or kaberle....

I like that the discussion is ongoing despite the fact that it has been rubbished by the so-called 'source.'

It could be any of them, but I get the feeling that the only team many players would actually sign an offer sheet with is the Canucks. That is if they want a chance at the cup right now.

Even though they aren't a canadian team, Id LOVE to see the sabres do it.....They have enough talent in their pipeline, that they could affort to give up the 2 firsts a second and a third as compensation, and a good amount of capspace remaining as to not cripple the team. Worse comes to worse they bury leino.

Cap goes up every year, 10 mil a season may not be so much when Benn is 27/28.

Foolish move. Dallas will match unless it's something outlandish (think the Weber offer sheet). And offering a guy who looks very likely to be a stud going forward (maybe a top 10 center for a while) 100 mil is a lot less of an assured return than offering the same to, probably, the sport's best defenseman.

A gnome in our garden told me indeed a team has made an offer to Benn, however that team is from the KHL

Wouldn't mind Ottawa making him an offer, the guy is one of the next great players in the NHL IMO.

Just my opinion, I am sure lots of people will disagree.
Calgary could not do it without their second round draft pick . Let me know when they make a trade to get it back
Now i get Calgary does not need their pick back if the offer is high enough where it is 4 first rounds going back . If Feaster is dumb enough to do it poor flames fans

If we could nab Yandle from Phoenix by trading someone like Gagner + Paajarvi + Prospect. It would make us a really good team. Atleast on paper.
Really . Look at our last OS . Klowe made a mess of our team . We do not need other teams mad at us when it comes time to sign our kids . Yes he would be a great 2 C for us , But lets move forward with our team not back . I want GM around the NHL to like dealing with us . Lets get to the point where GM,s will call us first when shopping a player .

Right now it goes up . I would bet it will drop in the new CBA . I think the NHL offer of 46% was low ,but the players at 57% is to high . I would say 50/50 split would be fair ,making a lower cap. I know there,s people saying with out the players there no NHL . But with out owners putting up 200,000,000 for a team plus another 300,000,000 to 500,000,000 for arenas there no NHL . The owner are in it cause they like hockey , but they still would like to turn a profit . at a 1/2 billion plus investment they should be making a good profit . New CBA look for contracts to be 8 years max and 50% to the players and no bonus money that does not count against the cap . I know bonus count over all , but 26,000,000 for Weber this year when the Max is 20 % for a player. 20% of 70,000,000 is 14,000,000 . GM,s are alway trying to screw the cap system . This will change and it may screw the team that have screwed the cap system up till now . At least we hope it does
