Need help on the winged wheel!

I dont think I could possibly be happier than I am right this very minute! I am on the brink of seeing our boys in primetime in the playoffs! (finally!) and the wife has now given me the go ahead on getting my very first tattoo!!!! Yes, I am getting the winged wheel. Ive searched the internet over for a decent picture of it but I cant find a large clean looking version. I didnt realize how much its been "played with" by everybody. ever notice that some are stretched out and some have really thick red lines and some are just squished way too much?! Anybody here have a good crystal clear copy of it that I could use tomorrow nite at the scary dirty tattoo shop? Thanks much in advance!!!

If you click on "back to red wings logos", there's some cool older ones, too.

p.s. Medical advances in the field of Hepatitis have come a long way.

Here are a few that I just so happen to have stored on my computer. The silver one is a favourite of mine and will be a future tattoo when I age a little more.

Yes, believe it or not... I as a European have the Winged Wheel on my left arm.

For about a year now and I'm really proud of it ! (and no regrets !! )

Did you have to get clearance from the United Nations, or did you act unilaterally?

I've had it almost a year now and I still like it very much.

The only thing is that I had to do the white three times.
White doesn't "take that well" on human skin, so after one time you hardly see it.
And keep in mind that the wheel-part should be round when your arm is extended and not when it's flexed. Otherwise you'll have a oval wheel when you're walking on the beach...

Anyways, good luck buddy and enjoy it !!

That's up to you.
Of course it is a possibility, but I didn't do that.

My first time, my friend (who did the tattoo) made the red outline, spokes and the "inner wing" included.
That almost took 4 hours and was enough for one time...

Two weeks later I went back and he did the RED all over the tattoo. So thickening the spokes and the wing. Again about three hours.

Two weeks after that he did all the WHITE in the tattoo. (3 hours)

After that I waited three weeks to let the skin heal and rest for a while.

Then I went back again for a "re-do" of the white, because (as I said earlier) white doesn't take that well done one time. (again a good 2 hours)

2 Months later I went back for another white session. (2 hours)

Then it was finally the way I wanted it.
All in all it was a 14-15 hour sitdown, but it was worth it !!

Really can't give you advice in this one.
I trusted my friend who did the tattoo and he knew what he was doing.
If you have the same feeling about the man / woman who will do yours, then I guess his advice is surely something to consider.

Good luck !

Looks good !

A different one than mine, but nonetheless, a real Winged Wheel !
Are you going to do the inside as well with white color, or are you going to keep it like this ?

thanks guys. its actually on the outside of my left ankle. yeah theyre scrawny. i think im actually gonna leave it the way it is for the time being. the guy that did it talked me into at least waiting. so far i really like the way it turned out. the black was done mainly to avoid any red bleeding. i wanted it the "real" way but i figure it still looks good even with the black. it only took an hour or so and cost 160 so i was happy all the way around.

Remember, keep it out of the sun & no hot baths the first week.
And keep it moist, with vaseline preferably !

Enjoy it !
