People who think GM's are out for revenge on the flyers are nuts. It's not their job to "punish" the flyers. It's their job to pay a player properly.

Tampa was so "hurt" by the flyers getting gratton they traded their first round pick years later to us for rusty

Weird. I thought we were going to lose every single RFA for the next decade to offer sheets.

Even if we do get Doan, do you think Doan would play better with Hartnell and Giroux or with Schenn and Briere. Briere's line would do so much better with a player like Doan on the wings clearing space.

I insist on keeping Hartnell and SImmonds because they come close to fitting the power forward role. The others do not.
So Briere is going to retire at age 35, with 2 years left on his deal? Why?

Well he doesn't make a whole lot of actual salary in those last two years but considering how he doesn't seem to have any lingering injuries or health issues that would make the last two years too much of a physical grind I don't see him retiring.

I wonder if everyone cried when the Oilers gave Vanek that massive offersheet. did they cry The Oilers will be blacklisted! teams are going to poach their RFA's when available!
Oh right. its Edmonton. so nothing to see there. Since the Flyers did it its all bad and they shall be held accountable by every other GM in the league
In all seriousness the only team that should hold a "grudge" it should be Nashville.

SJ gave up so much to acquire him, why would they deal him now?

With boyle declining fast they need him to be their number 1.

How long have you been waiting to use that one?

I think I might have to name the next offseason thread (or this one) "Vorassic Park"

Yeah because nobody that passes first has ever won a cup.

They're both big and can skate, but they play a completely different style. Burns is very aggressive to join the rush. He would be a great fit here. Right handed shot, PP, puck mover, but I don't see them moving him anyway.
