bouwmeester to philly

with weber going back to nashville philly is now desperate for a defencma. now there are alot of teams that would be interested in bouwmeester like detroit and st.louis but i see philly as the best match because they are in the east. now i propose we send bouwmeester to philly for matt read, brandon manning and a 2nd. it may look like a overpayment but remember philly is desperate and maybe we throw in karllson to back up bryzgalov and there are rumors that read is available.

after trading bouwmeester, feaster than would have to bring in another D to cover some of bouw's minutes. i propose featser goes out and signs carlo coliacovo or micheal rozival. I would prefer coliacovo because he's younger and played top minutes in st.louis, but he is injury prone so if that concerns you than rozival is probably your next best bet.

also i expect featser to deal babchuk and with read coming in, i see no need for stempniak so even though he just resigned i would try and deal him too. that leaves our line up looking like this: p.s i keep stajan for C insurance in case cammy or cervenka dont work out.

tanguay,cammy,iginla
glencross,cervenka,hudler
bartchi,backlund,read
comeau,stajan, Jackman
horak,jones,aliu
byron,bouma,nemisez

giordano, coliacovo
butler,wideman

manning, lamb

You don't sign and trade, plain and simple. It looks terrible to players, and could hurt us in the future when trying to bring in others. If our top pairing becomes Giordano and Colaiacovo, we become much worse.

I kind of question that. Look at Lamoriello. He signed and traded Carter AND Richards, and almost got Weber, who had to sign the offer sheet first. Sure, he has no Cup to his name, but even then it shows that it's not the end of the world, but it's in the manner of which you do it.
Signing and trading your top two star centres is a lot more ballsy than moving your third line winger for a sign and trade.

I think you mean Holmgren.

Sorry my bad. Lamoriello totally lost his player and he didn't even sign and trade/do offersheets.

In general youre right. There are times when its ok though, for example The Sharks told Setoguchi they would sign and trade him, as a result they gave him a better contract since he wouldn't be on their books. Works out for both parties.

You cannot replace Jaybo through FA. But if it means we get a legit top 6 center then I'd do that deal every time.

I'm hoping for Couts or Berglund. If Bouwmeester cannot return a young top 6 center, then I really do not see the point in trading him.

This looks like it was typed up while someone was trying to escape an axe murderer. Typed all frantically with total disregard for readability. Like the person ran out of breath when they finished typing it.

Reminds me of watching my brother inhale a sandwich in 2 bites like its some sort of race.
