You need an average salary of over 6.5 mill or something like that to get 4 1sts.

Likelihood he gets one is very slim, and he'd match anything because I don't see any team offering him more than 5 mill a year.

Wow, 2 years? That's a shocker. Stralman showed he had alot of upside this past year & I think he will get a little better with a full NYR camp & will be a solid better pairing & will help on the PP.

Good to hear. Very solid 3rd pair RD. If we get Sauer back some time this season our D corps has to be considered the best in the league, at least on paper. Don't expect him to be re-signed with the rest of the 2014 UFA crew, but that's not much of an issue.

Glad to see him back. He's a good player. He's not the player people expected him to be, but a solid puck moving NHL defender isn't easy to come by, especially one that is pretty solid in his own end.

nice, he deserved a 2 yr deal. He's still young too and Torts seemed to beat him into playing D. Good 2nd PP Unit RD.

Girardi, Sauer, Stralman with Bickel spare on RD? Lets hope

Offer sheet compensation is determined by the contract divided by the years, but that yearly value cannot exceed 5 years. So a team doesn't have to offer $7M per year for a team to get 4 1st round picks. A 8 year, $40M deal is $5M per year on the contract, but divided by 5 the compensation is $8m, and would be 4 1st rounders.

Let's try and keep this on topic though, please.

Great news. Anything under $2 million is a good deal.

Great news, the lineup is shaping up. I don't think he comes as cheap as many of you seem to think though. With arbitration coming up, comparing him with other d-men in similar age and comparable stats, I don't see it being below 1,5 per. Playing it safe, I'm betting somewhere between 1,5 and 2,0. Either way, glad to see him back!

That would be a little excessive for me...im hoping more 2.5 over 2 years at most. preferably 1.2 cap hit

yea me too but if its 1.6 I can live with it. He should not be a spare at that price. After two yrs McIlrath should be ready to take that spot in the lineup

btw the website makes it sound like 1 yr but likely not with all the reports

The Score is reporting 2 year/$3.4M

Quote:
Rangers re-sign D Anton Stralman to a 2-year deal reportedly worth $3.4 million.

The New York Rangers re-signed free-agent defenseman Anton Stralman on Thursday.

No terms of the deal were released, but reports state it is for $3.4 million over two years.

What reports?

Mark Fayne got 2 years/$2.6M to avoid arbitration. Stralman should more than Fayne.

Sure. Let Edmonton offer sheet DZ. Well do the same for Taylor Hall then. Surely he will sign it if Edmonton continues to suck.

They won't offer sheet DZ. I don't think they are that dumb.

Bro we have like 14 million dollars to spend. Cool your ****. We're like arguing over the most technical thing, it's not like he got a 7 year deal worth 49 mill and we all hoped for 4 at 28...

If it is 2 years for 3.4 total, you guys think it'll be 1.7 both years? Or 1.5 and 1.9 or something like that?

Stralman was one of the few guys on the team who played better in the playoffs than during the regular season. Glad to have him back.
