Some dude in the starting roster thread is trying to argue the Flames roster vs ours and saying how Calgarys is far superior in all three positions. Someone take over for me since I have to go to work now. I can understand defense, maybe even forwards, but there's no way their deeper at the goaltending position.

The Flames are not superior to the Wild, end of story. They remind me of the Wild after a few seasons of DR. Few prospects and hanging around 8th place hoping to acquire someone to make them just a little better. They will need to retool at some point or they will really hit rock bottom as a franchise.

Ehh, I hope the Flames and your Wild both make the playoffs next year. and we both can hope the Canucks fail miserably. Good luck to you guys next year!
Not sure how accurate his comments are about the Czech league being better than the Sim-Liiga. Seems like everyone says so and so league is better than the Finnish league.

I thought he meant KHL where Cervenka played from the age of 24 or so. The Czech league is definitely not better than SM-liiga, quite far from it.
Love how he thinks Granlund having played all his games within his own country will mean that he will have greater culture shock than Cervenka... since Cervenka "left the Czech republic to play in the KHL"
Guess he doesn't realize just how little time to himself Granlund could even get in Finland, thus being here will be quite a relief by comparison!

I love how he thinks that KHL hockey bears more of a reassemblance to the NHL, then the SMLiga does...
Jackets fan (yes, we exist ) based in Spokane, WA, coming in peace. An article in the local sports section yesterday featured two of your defensemen, Justin Falk and Jared Spurgeon. The article is online for those of you who would like to check it out:
But the Canadian hockey players – who spent over half of their teenage years in Spokane, living with host families, spending countless hours on buses, and manning the blue line for the Spokane Chiefs – were young and talented enough to win the coveted Memorial Cup.
Thought some of you might enjoy some offseason reading. The article is fairly mis-informed, however it tells a short background on each player and what their hopes are for the coming season.
Congrats on the big signings this summer (including Granlund, naturally), and good luck this season!
Saw that thread. Promptly got out of it before I lost any more brain cells. Threads like that, I really hope the players are seeing and posted up in the lockerroom as they go by. Only the Wild can be seen as "not making the playoffs." Defense is weak though.

Thanks for that Sore Loser.
I had no idea those guys were teammates, let alone Memorial Cup winners together.
