If we get grittier. I'd like it to be someone more dynamic than your average grinder.

Glencross is perfect. He can score, hit, kill penalties and be a pain. I don't want some 15-30 point guy skating around just because he's tough to play against. Feaster, go get us a big center like Couturier or Berglund to make us harder to play against.

I was being sarcastic, but he is the kind of player that would fit the bill.

Wonder what the Panthers would want for Upshall or even Umberger? Obviously we would need to send guys like Stempniak and Comeau and perhaps Backlund in any of those deals which is unlikely in itself, but they would be decent guys to add.

Stafford, Purcell and Hartnell would be my top choices of adding anyone.

I like him and would actually have preferred him over Stemps / Comoau.

In my sneaky suspicions and cuz of my un-dieing love for Feaster, I think he will continue to say that all the way to the season.... He wants his players to step up, push a little harder to fill the roles still available to the team. Makes more sense than not actually signing Kostopo.

In fact I'm kinda shocked no one has signed him.
Did you forget this . The guy is terrible, he is slow, gets caught out of position, and couldn't accept a pass or make a decent shot to save his life. Bouma>TKO.

Heh... Just kind of tired with the Calgary status quo. If we've been missing a center for almost two decades... About time to finallly get one.

Easier said than done, they don't just grow on trees and if there's ever one available the price is too steep for a lot of organizations, especially the flames given the fact we aren't exactly stock piled with grade A prospects and shouldn't be willing to throw our first round picks around.

Agreed... However, outside of last year, firsts were used to pickup marginal talent at best. I know it sucks losing out on a pick, but if it means we bite the bullet for one year (not this upcoming years draft, too deep to lose any picks), and lose out a first for a guy who can be our top line center going forward... I mean, I can live with that.

Bouwmeester might be the option to get one... And although it just opens up another hole, in Calgary it seems defence has always been able to muster up some talent, at one point we had bouw, Phaneuf and RR, all three were arguably top pair guys... Whereas jokinen was about as close to a first line center we've had since the Dallas trade.

There are, in my opinion, five or six first line centers that for the right price (not highway robbery) could be a member of calgary

I'd be totally cool with trading Iginla for Couturier.

Same here. I doubt Philly does it, but Couturier will be one hell of a player. He has already show he can shut down Malkin quite effectively, so his defensive awareness is already incredibly developed.

He's prone to be mistakes, but he was JUST drafted.

I'd take him in a heartbeat for anyone other than Sven.

While this kid is amazing... Philly has two centers that will be their one two for years to come.

Couturier might find himself in a staal situation soon. Could benefit from a move to where he'd be a top center.

I don't know if Holmgren would either, but man if they get Weber and then add Iggy, you gotta think they are a favorite for the Cup.

They might do it, I'm not sure. I do know that Couturier is not a 4th line centre and I'm not sure where he is going to slot in next season. Briere will likely move to wing, which puts him on the 3rd. They have enough disgusting depth to do that type of deal.

Yeah, the Flyers don't have the cap space to trade Couturier for Iginla straight up (assuming they get Weber)

Also, if Holmgren refused to trade Couturier for Bobby Ryan, Rick Nash, and Shea Weber, there isn't a chance that he'll trade him for one-year-until-UFA-35-year-old-Jarome-Iginla.

I believe all the rumor deals were Couturier+Schenn+. Which makes sense for philadelphia to reject entirely.

I know that is what the rumor is about Weber which I would easily reject. I don't think we could get Couturier for Iginla but I would do it if we could.

No doubt all of us would easily move Iginla for Couturier. Would be a great way to propel a complete make over of the team.

I ended up getting his autograph. Called him Kantstopolous and everything. Seems like a great guy. I hope someone picks him up and he does well. Maybe a team needing to fill up cap space.
